Fieldpiece Instruments is a thriving team of innovators - committed to pushing boundaries and celebrating curiosity.  We’ve been providing HVACR professionals with rugged, feature-rich tools since 1990 and lead the industry in the way we think, work, collaborate, and remain laser-focused on creating products that empower our customers – today and tomorrow.

We’re hiring a Senior Product Marketing Manager to help drive the next generation of products that define how technicians work.  In this role, you’ll sit at the intersection of product strategy, market insight, and commercial execution. You’ll lead the go-to-market vision for our tools – integrating hardware, firmware, and software to deliver products that technicians love and businesses rely on.

This role is ideal for someone who loves turning complex technology into clear, compelling customer value. You’re energized by time in the field—listening, observing, and uncovering real customer needs—and you naturally bridge strategic thinking with commercial execution. With an engineering foundation, experience applying the Jobs-to-Be-Done (JTBD) framework, and a record of global product development and successful B2B launches, you bring both technical depth and market insight to everything you do.

Recognized as one of Southern California’s Best Places to Work (2023, 2024 & 2025), we provide a Hire-to-Retire philosophy, hybrid schedule, and a culture of curiosity – a place where you’ll have the support to innovate boldly, grow continuously, and make a tangible impact on an industry that powers everyday life.

What You’ll Do

Shape the Future of our Products

  • Define and drive category and portfolio strategy across hardware, firmware, and connected software.
  • Stay deeply connected to the field—spending up to 20% of your time with technicians and distributors—to uncover insights that drive meaningful innovation.
  • Translate customer insights into clear, actionable product strategies.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and finance to turn ideas into market-ready solutions.

Lead Go-to-Market Strategy and Launch Execution

  • Own the go-to-market (GTM) strategy from concept to commercialization.
  • Develop product positioning, messaging, and launch plans that resonate with every audience—from technicians to distributors – nationally and internationally.
  • Partner with downstream marketing and sales to create compelling product stories, sales enablement tools, and training programs.
  • Measure launch performance, adoption, and revenue impact—then use those learnings to guide future strategies.

Drive Business Impact

  • Build financial models, pricing strategies, and adoption forecasts to guide executive investment decisions.
  • Identify market opportunities and competitive trends that shape Fieldpiece’s long-term growth.
Qualifications

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing or upstream product management in a product-driven industry (hardware, connected devices, or tools).
  • Proven success bringing technical products to market—from concept to launch to sustained growth.
  • Hands-on experience applying frameworks like Jobs-to-Be-Done, ethnographic research, or VOC to uncover customer needs.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect market insights, financial modeling, and strategy.
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills—you turn technical detail into compelling business narratives.
  • Deep curiosity about emerging technologies and ecosystems.
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to align cross-functional teams toward a shared vision.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

At Fieldpiece, we believe great work deserves great rewards. We offer:

  • Matching 401k up to 4% with immediate vesting.
  • Excellent medical benefits including an HSA option with monthly contributions.
  • Supplemental Term Life, Employee Assistance Programs (EAD), Disability, and more.
  • Hire to Retire philosophy that includes personal career development plans.
  • Onsite music program with lessons from guitar, piano and voice coaches.
  • And more!

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
