The Role

Benepass is looking for a Senior Product Manager to help drive meaningful product work on a small, high-ownership team.

This role is ideal for a PM who is strong in execution, comfortable operating with autonomy, and excited to take ownership of solving problems in a fast-moving environment. You’ll work on real, customer-facing problems, partner closely with Design and Engineering, and be trusted to deliver high-quality work with minimal oversight.

You’ll play a critical role in turning a clear strategy defined by product leadership into shipped outcomes and learning quickly from what we put into the world.

What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll be responsible for owning and delivering product work within a clearly defined problem space, with support and guidance from product leadership. You will:

  • Own projects or problem areas with clear goals and success criteria, driving work from discovery through delivery

  • Translate high-level product direction into concrete requirements, plans, and decisions

  • Partner closely with Design and Engineering to build thoughtful, high-quality product experiences

  • Lead product discovery to understand user needs and validate solutions before and after launch

  • Drive execution day to day, keeping work on track and surfacing risks or blockers early

  • Communicate progress, tradeoffs, and open questions clearly to partners and product leadership

  • Use data, user feedback, and judgment to evaluate impact and inform iteration

You’ll be expected to operate independently within your scope, while collaborating closely with your manager and teammates to ensure alignment and quality.

What we’re looking for

This role is a strong fit if you:

  • Have 3–5+ years of experience working as a Product Manager

  • Have experience delivering product work in a fast-moving or ambiguous environment

  • Are comfortable owning execution and following through on what you commit to

  • Can break down problems, ask good questions, and make progress without needing step-by-step instruction

  • Communicate clearly and proactively with cross-functional partners

  • Are curious, thoughtful, and motivated to learn and grow as a PM

  • Take accountability seriously and step up when things don’t go as planned

You don’t need to have worked in benefits, fintech, or a regulated industry before, but you should be excited to learn a complex domain and dig into the details.

Compensation
  • Base salary of $150,000 to $180,000 + equity.

Range(s) is subject to change. Benepass takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including market comparables, interview performance, peer compensation, and years of experience. What We Offer
  • 95% coverage of medical, dental, and vision

  • Fantastic benefits (of course 😃), including:

    • $250 WFH setup (one time)

    • $500/year Learning & Development Benefit

    • $150/month cell phone + internet

    • $100/month Wellness

    • $100/month Co-working and Commuter Benefit

  • We offer several team onsites a year

  • Flexible PTO

At Benepass, we are working towards reimagining how companies take care of their people. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all our employees and are seeking to build a team that reflects the diversity of the people we hope to serve with our revolutionary products. Benepass is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
