The Senior Strategic Partnership Manager – VMG & Covetrus serves as a dedicated liaison between Covetrus, Veterinary Management Groups (VMG), and VMG member practices. This role is responsible for streamlining communication, ensuring program integrity, strengthening partnership execution, and driving measurable value for VMG members through consistent oversight, data visibility, and proactive collaboration.
This individual will deeply understand VMG’s Preferred Partner ecosystem, Covetrus’ internal divisions and capabilities, and the operational realities of member practices—translating that knowledge into action, alignment, and results.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Liaison & Communication Hub
- Serve as the primary point of contact between VMG, Covetrus divisions, and VMG member practices.
- Coordinate and streamline communication across multiple Covetrus teams (e.g., PIMS, Compounding, rebates, analytics, marketing, vRXPro).
- Establish regular cadence meetings and structured escalation pathways to drive faster issue resolution.
Program & Contract Oversight
- Maintain oversight of VMG–Covetrus programs, ensuring accuracy in: Rebate reporting and validation. Program eligibility and compliance requirements. Contract terms, amendments, and renewals.
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or risks and proactively recommend solutions.
Data & Reporting Enablement
- Facilitate timely access to VMG-relevant data (rebates, purchasing, utilization, participation, performance).
- Partner with analytics teams to improve reporting accuracy, consistency, and usability.
- Support VMG initiatives tied to dashboards, value reporting, and performance insights.
Member Expertise & Support
- Act as a trusted resource for VMG members regarding Covetrus programs, tools, and processes.
- Translate member feedback and pain points into actionable improvements.
- Ensure member-facing communications are clear, consistent, and aligned with VMG standards.
Partnership Strategy & Growth
- Collaborate with VMG and Covetrus leadership on annual planning, joint business reviews, and growth initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to expand program adoption, utilization, and overall value.
- Support new program launches, pilots, and enhancements.
Accountability & Execution
- Track commitments, timelines, and deliverables across Covetrus teams.
- Provide regular status updates to VMG and Covetrus stakeholders.
- Drive follow-through and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years in animal health, veterinary distribution, practice operations, or strategic partnerships.
- Strong understanding of veterinary purchasing, rebates, and Member association programs.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and complex workflows.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with data.
- Excellent communicator with strong relationship building skills.
- Experience working with enterprise systems, reporting platforms, and analytics teams.

It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case. Sales Positions are eligible for a Variable Incentive.
The pay range for this position is as follows:
