While candidates in Remote - San Francisco are encouraged for this role, candidates in other locations in U.S. will be considered.

About the Role

You will lead the transformation of Databricks' sales operations as we expand our global salesforce by a factor of two over the next several years. Your job is to transform today's manual, high-touch processes into automated systems - so account splits, territory changes, and tool provisioning occur seamlessly without sellers having to chase anyone down. You'll own the sales ops roadmap end-to-end and manage a distributed team of contractors and employees across the U.S., Costa Rica, and India, supporting thousands of sellers. You report to the Senior Director of Go-to-Market Operations and partner closely with Sales, Finance, IT, and HR leadership.

We're open to candidates from non-traditional backgrounds. If you've been a seller, solutions engineer, or led shared services or go-to-market scale programs and tooling —we'd like to hear from you.

The Impact You Will Have
  • Own and execute the sales operations transformation roadmap, building automated systems that can support 2x growth in sellers globally
  • Operationalize our annual plan: partner with our planning and IT teams to turn territory design, consumption & commit quotas, capacity modeling, etc., into reality in our systems of truth (SFDC, Anaplan)
  • Design automation for high-volume workflows, including territory management, account assignments, compensation administration, and tool provisioning
  • Drive system implementations and manage the technology roadmap for sales operations tools (Salesforce, Anaplan, Xactly)
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with Sales, Revenue Operations, IT, Finance, and HR to modernize infrastructure
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to VP-level sales leaders on operations strategy and resource planning
  • Build and develop a globally distributed team with a focus on AI-powered Scale, automation, efficiency, and service excellence
What You'll Bring

Required:

  • 8+ years in strategy and operations, sales operations, revenue operations, field operations, or sales/pre-sales roles—with a track record of building operational excellence at scale
  • Experience leading business transformation at a high-growth technology company ($100M+ annual recurring revenue preferred)
  • Knowledge of annual planning, consumption-based models, and territory/quota design—whether from the field or an operations role
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce
  • Working knowledge of planning tools (such as Anaplan), business intelligence platforms, and service ticketing systems (such as FreshService or JIRA Service Management)
  • Experience delivering complex programs in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Experience managing distributed teams across multiple time zones
  • Proven bias to action and focus on delivery amongst uncertainty
  • Ability to advise and influence VP-level and above stakeholders

Preferred:

  • Experience at a hyper-growth company (3x+ revenue growth within 3 years)
  • Experience in leveraging AI to automate GTM employee jobs-to-be-done
  • Background as a seller, solutions engineer, or customer success manager
  • Experience in management consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy
  • Familiarity with consumption-oriented GTM
  • Experience with Databricks or a similar platform as used within a GTM Operations framework
  • Experience with international operations (EMEA, APJ)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
