Headquartered in San Francisco, with an influential APAC presence in Seoul, our global footprint underscores our commitment to driving worldwide innovation.

We are a global company that values the uniqueness of each person’s journey. As one of our earliest hires, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the function from the ground up, bringing strategy and structure to a team that's small in size but big in ambition. You won’t just be crunching numbers—you’ll be a core business partner, collaborating closely with every team across TwelveLabs to drive critical initiatives forward. • Launch and own the budget vs. actuals process with the executive team and department heads to drive accountability and informed decision-making

  • Support fundraising efforts, including building financial models, preparing investor materials, and partnering closely with the executive team during due diligence

  • Assist the Sales team in developing quotes for prospects, structuring pricing, and providing financial insight to close high-impact deals

  • Take on high-priority, cross-functional projects including, but not limited to:

    • Revamping the compute cost model and identifying operational efficiencies

    • Pricing new product offerings to support go-to-market success and profitability

    • Evaluating vendor contracts and identifying opportunities for cost savings or improved terms

  • Develop internal financial reporting tools and dashboards to empower teams with real-time insights

  • Build scalable financial processes and infrastructure as the company grows, including evaluating systems, tools, and team needs

  • Act as a strategic thought partner to leaders across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Operations—translating data into actionable insights that drive business performance

You may be a good fit if you have

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field

  2. 7+ years of finance experience, bonus points if some of this experience is at an early stage startup

  3. Meticulous attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and high-quality work

  4. Strong intellectual curiosity and a desire to dive deep into cutting-edge multi-modal foundation models

  5. Ability to be on-site at our San Francisco (Jackson Square) office at least three days a week

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
