  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Platform Engineering leadership on priorities, trade-offs, and investment decisions

  • Lead Financial & Program Operations: Own program and spend management for Platform Engineering, including budget planning, forecasting, and optimization. Apply strong financial and data analytics to guide high-impact investment and resource decisions

  • Build Scalable Operating Models: Design and implement operational frameworks for knowledge sharing, reusable assets, and engineering engagement playbooks. Establish mechanisms that improve execution rigor, delivery predictability, and cross-cloud collaboration

  • Enable Technical Excellence: Define and evolve the technical vision for engineering enablement programs in alignment with Salesforce platform standards, guardrails, and product roadmaps

  • Measure What Matters: Develop and track success metrics for programs and initiatives. Use data-driven insights to continuously refine strategy, operations, and future investments

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in engineering management, technical program management, or engineering operations within an enterprise technology environment

  • 8+ years leading SaaS product development programs with a strong understanding of the SaaS business model and product lifecycle

  • Deep knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including agile methodologies in fast-moving environments

  • Strong financial literacy, including budgeting, P&L concepts, and managing large, complex data sets

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach

  • Proven ability to establish credibility with senior executives and influence across engineering, product, and customer organizations

  • Outstanding communication, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills in a matrixed environment

  • Ability to quickly master technical domains and emerging technologies relevant to the platform and programs you lead

  • A related technical degree required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Financially savvy, with strong understanding of cloud economics, public cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), software spend, and emerging cost drivers such as LLM usage

  • Experience with analytics and dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau)

  • Background in both strategic planning and tactical execution in complex, enterprise-scale environments

  • Experience designing and owning scalable processes that turn strategy into sustained results

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
