Summary:

The Sr. Manager, Communications & Curriculum will work in partnership with the Director of Effectiveness to provide curriculum and communications solutions to the business. You will be a subject matter expert in creating instructor-led courses, online learning modules, live web-based learning sessions, learning guides, and support materials following an instructional design process. 

 

This position will require strong interpersonal, written, and visual communication skills to bring together text, images, video, and audio to communicate and educate ADT employees with various learning solutions. The Sr. Manager, Communications & Curriculum will generate online, video, and in-person learning solutions using instructional design technologies, including Articulate Storyline, Articulate Studio, Adobe Connect, and any other learning content software. You will work closely with your functional business partners to develop and deliver consistent, clear, and relevant communications to influence education and awareness. This position will partner with the CX Learning and Communications Team and other functional groups to ensure alignment and consistency in approach and content at the department and enterprise levels.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Utilize proven techniques to research, design, and develop multimedia learning materials for new and existing programs in a variety of contexts and subjects, using software applications and tools.   

  • Using the proper methodology, determine or verify accurate learning objectives to create relevant and scalable learning content and assessments.    

  • Work directly with Learning and Development team members, SMEs, and business partners  as needed for each project.

  • Partner with direct stakeholders and cross-functionally to design and implement routine and ad-hoc communications to assist with awareness and change management.

  • Incorporate proven adult learning principles in all material and activity development.

  • Schedule and lead knowledge sharing in design and review sessions.  

  • Serve as an innovative change agent for continuous improvement in learning solutions through improved/enhanced strategy and methodologies. 

  • Develop Leadership Development courses for the business on an ongoing basis. 

  • Build relationships with internal business partners including Project Managers, Enterprise Knowledge Team and Performance Leaders. 

  • Apply project management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to enable the on time launch of new products, services and process changes.

  • Provide instructor-led content revisions and new development design.  

  • Ensure clear communication between Learning and Development and the business to achieve overall project goals.   

  • Excellent writing and copy-editing skills, following accepted rules of grammar, style, tone, and form that are appropriate for the audience. 

  • Design and develop learning solutions supported by Horizon Learning and other learning content software.  

  • Ability to write and record audio scripts and partner with SMEs to launch effective learning platforms.

  • Work with video production and graphic sources to produce final versions of course materials.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or master’s degree preferred with preferred. 

  • Coursework in instructional design, instructional design systems, adult learning theory, training and development, or performance technology preferred.

  • Formal certification in Instructional Design or ISD, or related skills preferred.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the design and development of instructional material in a corporate setting, leading teams in all phases of the project life cycle and producing creative learning solutions.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft and computer graphics programs.   

  • Up-to-date and practical knowledge of adult learning principles and ISD concepts, including ADDIE and rapid methodologies like SAM.

  • Must have extensive experience with developing Leadership Development courses in both instructor-led and e-Learning formats.  

  • Must have experience building online and in-person courses for adult learners from the ground up.  

  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of course development and curriculum within a Learning Management System. 

  • Must be detail-oriented and able to coordinate and track simultaneous projects.

  • Preferred experience with writing video scripts and video production.
