As a Sr. Inside Account Executive, Technology, you'll play a critical role in driving growth across a portfolio of high-value enterprise accounts. This position is responsible for expanding technology sales, strengthening customer relationships, and delivering innovative solutions that help customers achieve their business goals. Working closely with customers, supplier partners, and internal stakeholders, you will identify opportunities across technology hardware and services, influence buying decisions, and drive profitable growth within a dynamic and evolving marketplace. Work Location: This is a remote position with a regional focus. This position supports customers in California, Washington, Oregon or Arizona. While the role primarily supports working from home, the individual performing this role would live within or adjacent to this region.

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Identify and close technology opportunities within an assigned portfolio of Staples Enterprise accounts.
  • Grow and retain sales and profitability within high-touch accounts with significant revenue potential.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for technology hardware and services in partnership with sales leadership.
  • Proactively uncover opportunities within existing customer accounts and develop tailored purchasing programs that meet customer needs.
  • Build relationships with Economic Buying Influences (EBIs), Technical Buying Influences (TBIs), and Chief level leadership to expand account penetration.
  • Provide consultative guidance on technology products, services, pricing, and solution selection to customers and internal sales partners.
  • Sell innovative technology solutions that address customer business challenges and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key technology suppliers to maximize customer value and business results.
  • Analyze customer needs, market trends, and product opportunities to increase revenue and profitability.
  • Support and educate the broader Staples sales organization on technology hardware products and services.

What you bring to the table:

  • Strong consultative, solution-based, and insight-driven selling skills.
  • Experience building relationships and influencing decision-makers at senior levels within customer organizations.
  • Proven ability to manage business development initiatives and drive growth.
  • Strong negotiation and advanced client management capabilities.
  • Ability to analyze customer data, industry trends, and business needs to create customized solutions.
  • Strong business, financial, operational, and technology acumen.
  • Ability to develop strategic account plans and execute against revenue goals.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, sales partners, and supplier organizations.

What's needed - Basic Qualifications 

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of successful sales experience.
  • Experience managing programs, business development initiatives, or strategic customer relationships.
  • Experience selling technology hardware, software, or services within a B2B environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business software applications.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to and influencing senior customer stakeholders.
  • Experience with consultative selling, negotiation, and account management.
  • Ability to analyze business needs and develop strategic growth plans.
  • Ability to coordinate pricing, bids, and quotes while supporting profitable business growth.
  • Proven ability to function independently and manage a territory or account base effectively.

What's needed - Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience managing large enterprise or strategic accounts.
  • Demonstrated success exceeding sales and revenue goals.
  • Experience collaborating with technology manufacturers, distributors, or supplier partners.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
