As a Senior Designer on the Marketing Team, you’ll play a key role in shaping the visual identity of Lightmatter. You’ll work on a variety of projects, including website updates, marketing campaigns, presentations, motion graphics, videos, illustrations, and brand assets. Reporting directly to the Head of Brand Marketing, you’ll ensure that all design work aligns with our brand strategy and supports our business goals.

Lead creative, end-to-end initiatives with both strategic vision and tactical precision, always optimizing for the next user touchpoint. You’ll use exceptional design and storytelling skills to craft brand visuals while collaborating directly with agencies, designers and brand narrative experts to craft narratives and drive best practices. You’ll help build our brand narrative DNA and in-house guidelines. Your design work will ensure that we present an authentic LM aesthetic to our consumers in all capacities. You'll actively gain knowledge and experience regarding LM's philosophy, products and trends, as well as the consumer and overall marketplace culture.


Responsibilities:

  • Originate, extend and adapt creative ideas, visuals, and content to elevate the consumer experience across all LM channels and various media channels through hyper meaningful brand stories.
  • Work with narrative/designers to sharpen the direction and ensure the work delivers storytelling excellence.
  • Website Design & Updates: Maintain and enhance our website (Lightmatter.co) with new pages, visuals, and content updates. Work closely with agency partners and developers to implement changes.
  • Graphic Design: Create marketing materials, including social media graphics, blog illustrations, sales decks, event collateral, and case studies.
  • Motion Graphics & Video Editing: Develop compelling motion graphics and edit videos for social media, campaigns, events, and digital channels.
  • Brand Development & Assets: Ensure consistency across all touchpoints, refining and evolving our brand as needed. Produce brand assets such as figure illustrations, iconography, and visual templates.
  • Campaign Support: Design assets for marketing campaigns, email newsletters, and paid advertising.
  • UX/UI Enhancements: Collaborate with the team to improve website usability and optimize landing pages for conversion.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Product Marketing and Sales to execute projects effectively.
  • Support planning and execution of events
  • Create, craft and provide feedback that helps agencies or freelancers, when needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with new digital technologies and best practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s of Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field 
  • 8 years of industry experience working on brand teams or in a creative agency
  • Strong portfolio showcasing brand, marketing, web, illustration, motion graphics, and video editing work
  • Expertise in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro), and other design tools
  • Experience with WordPress, Webflow, or other CMS platforms for website updates
  • Understanding of UX/UI best practices and front-end development principles 
  • Ability to manage 3–5 projects or priorities while meeting deadlines, in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication: Deliver clear, error-free written work and present ideas with clarity, excellent presentation skills, i.e. ability to craft decks that secure stakeholder buy-in
  • Strategic thinker experienced in consumer insights to create data-backed recommendations aligned with marketing plan
  • Have collaborated with designers, brand narrative exports, and art directors along with cross functional teams to incorporate feedback while maintaining momentum

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s of Fine Arts
  • HTML, CSS knowledge is a plus
  • Experience working in a technical field, preferably semiconductors or hardware
  • Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics

We offer competitive compensation. The base salary range for this role determined based on location, experience, educational background, and market data.

Salary Range
$154,000$169,000 USD
