The Hourglass Cosmetics creative team is looking for a Senior Designer to join our growing team. The creative team is responsible for producing a diverse range of content for internal departments as well as for external partners. We are looking for a deadline-driven, creative mind who is highly collaborative.  The ideal candidate understands how marketing campaigns work, especially in the retail sector, to support our consumer messaging and storytelling. In this role, you will work directly with the Creative Director, Associate Creative Director and Art Directors on a wide variety of campaigns, branding, packaging, and graphic design projects. This role will report to the Associate Creative Director and will help in the overall ideation and execution of marketing briefs.This position requires a passion for design, an inventive and collaborative design forward mentality, a keen eye for digital and print design, typography, photography and an understanding of current design trends and best practices. This role is key to support and review designers’ work, providing guidance and mentorship to the more junior members of the team. This is a unique career opportunity in a fast-paced and growth-stage, luxury beauty brand, centered on innovation and creative excellence.  

 WHAT YOU DO: 

  • Concept & execute design and branding elements for digital, mobile, social, e-commerce, in-store, OOH, video, print and packaging. 
  • Mentor junior designers, reviewing work for the highest standards of accuracy and consistency, ensuring that all creative projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.  
  • Translate business and marketing objectives into designs that are clear, compelling, and easy to understand. 
  • Bring forward the most innovative creative techniques, design trends, top talent, and current industry trends and innovations across all relevant industries - driving vision and insights to creative ideation, strategy, and production planning. 
  • Demonstrate a mastery of layout and typography. 
  • Support the Senior Creative team with art direction: from concept to post-production, including but not limited to mood boards, casting, on-set art direction, and retouching. 
  • Prepare, package, and spec files for print projects with correct dimensions, die-lines, and resolution. 
  • Ensure that all projects are within deadline.

 QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 5+ years of design experience in a beauty/fashion/luxury agency or in-house environment. 
  • 2+ years of people management experience.  Specifically managing junior designers. 
  • A refined taste level with expert design and typography skills. 
  • An exceptional portfolio showcasing digital and print work. 
  • Ability to take direction from senior creative team and collaborate with cross-functional marketing teams  
  • Ability to prioritize with tight deadlines and follow through.  
  • Ability to brainstorm and develop creative concepts that are strategic and innovative.  
  • BFA / BA in Graphic Design or other closely related field preferred. 
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, web and digital best practices, particularly within luxury beauty retail and advertising.   
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • Strong project management, organizational and planning skills.     
  • In-depth knowledge of the latest versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, Figma, Premiere, After Effects, Bridge.  
  • Must be able to work from Corporate Office at least 60% of the time.  

 The expected base salary range for this position is $90,000 to $105,000 per year. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.

This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
