Sr. Full Stack Software Engineer

SUMMARY

The Product Engineering team is growing a small tiger team and is seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Software Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, remote environment. In this role, you'll drive both front-end and back-end development of Blackpoint's cybersecurity products to build robust, scalable software that helps stop cyber-attacks and protect our rapidly growing customer base.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver on business-critical outcomes through product contributions to our cybersecurity platform, defining and building world-class user experiences and owning them end-to-end.

• Lead and drive projects across the stack — TypeScript, Golang, React, Node.js services hosted on Kubernetes.

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools throughout the coding lifecycle — code generation, review, and testing — to move fast without sacrificing code quality.

• Apply deep understanding of design and architecture and best-practice design patterns; optimize performance, scale, and resiliency.

• Act as a strong team player across diverse, cross-functional groups, including mentoring other engineers and leading them through complex projects.

• Communicate effectively with leadership to define technical solutions, align them to business objectives, and provide clear progress updates.

REQUIREMENTS

• 5-8 years of industry experience in full-stack development, with demonstrated expertise delivering scalable, high-performance systems in fast-paced, enterprise-level environments.

• Strong backend development skills with Node.js and Golang, including building and maintaining microservices architectures on Kubernetes.

• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as React and TypeScript, with solid understanding of modern front-end architecture, design patterns, and best practices.

• Expertise designing and consuming APIs (REST, GraphQL, or gRPC), with a focus on secure, scalable, high-performance services.

• Proven ability to architect full-stack solutions, balance performance and scalability from the database layer to the UI.

• Strong understanding of database design, performance tuning, and indexing across both SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, and common cloud primitives such as storage, messaging, logging, and networking.

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Argo CD, or similar), automating testing, deployment, and scaling of services.

• Deep understanding of security best practices in full-stack environments — securing APIs, handling sensitive data, and managing authentication/authorization (OAuth, JWT).

• Experience working in an Agile environment, including leading sprint planning and breaking down large initiatives.

• Comfortable adopting AI-assisted development tools (AI coding assistants, automated code review/testing) to accelerate delivery while maintaining high code quality.

• Strong desire to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment with multiple releases a day.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of diagnosing complex issues and implementing innovative solutions.

NICE TO HAVE

• Security best practices including penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.

• Experience with Kafka and Prometheus.

• Experience with container orchestration tools beyond Kubernetes (Docker Swarm, Amazon ECS).

• Experience with internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) frameworks.
