Job Description SummaryThe Senior SMR Mechanical Systems Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. This is a technical position that integrates and develops processes that meet business needs across the organization and requires long-term planning. This role contributes to the overall strategy of the business and manages complex issues within the Systems Engineering area.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Mechanical Nuclear Island Support Systems (MNISS) engineering activities that support the BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR) design.
• Activities focus on the Process Radiation and Environmental Monitoring System (D11). Develop and maintain the System Design Description, Process Flow Calculations/Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and other engineering deliverable documents associated with the system.
• Responsible for development of specifications/component data sheets for fluid system in-line components.
• Work with adjacent teams, disciplines, project management, and contractors to ensure high quality and on time deliverables in support of BWRX-300 engineering milestones.
• Provide support to the Licensing organization for regulatory related deliverables.
• Responsible for analysis and design work supporting requirements specifications
• Improve areas of project execution and department management through Six Sigma methodology
• Support development efforts for both new products and new technology
• Responsible for necessary corrective and preventive actions resulting from Quality non-compliance monitoring and audit programs
• Responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Action Work Outs (LAWO)Work on BWRX-300 technologies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering
• Minimum 8 years of experience in an engineering role.
• Minimum 4 years of experience developing design documents

Desired Characteristics

• Master's degree in engineering or technical discipline
• Previous SRO License
• Strong leadership skills
• Knowledge working within a regulated environment (nuclear)
• Experience working with quality standards and systems (e.g. NQA-1, ISO 9000)
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
• Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects
• Strong customer mindset
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressure
• Six Sigma training is preferred
• Established project management skills

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $111,200.00 and $213,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
