How You Will Make an Impact

As the Senior Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for GSD, you will be a strategic advisor to senior leaders across two global business units and Global R&D. Partnering closely with business leaders, you will align talent, leadership, organizational capability, and culture with business priorities to accelerate growth, innovation, and performance.

In this highly visible, global role, you will guide organizational transformation, strengthen leadership capability, and help build a future-ready workforce. Leveraging workforce analytics, digital tools, and AI-enabled insights, you will enable data-driven decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness while advancing Thermo Fisher Scientific's Mission to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and execute people strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Advise on organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, and leadership development.
  • Lead organizational transformation and change initiatives that drive business performance.
  • Leverage workforce analytics, digital tools, and AI-enabled insights to improve decision-making and organizational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to deliver integrated, enterprise-wide talent solutions.
  • Foster an inclusive, high-performing culture aligned with Thermo Fisher Scientific's values.
Minimum QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
Experience
  • 12+ years of progressive HR leadership experience supporting senior leaders in global, matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrated success aligning people strategies with business objectives and driving organizational performance.
  • Expertise in organizational design, leadership development, talent strategy, workforce planning, and change management.
  • Strong business acumen with experience using workforce analytics, digital tools, and AI-enabled technologies to drive informed decisions.
  • Exceptional executive presence, communication, and influencing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting global R&D, manufacturing, healthcare, or life sciences organizations.
  • Experience leading enterprise transformation, organizational change, or business integration.
  • Experience applying AI-enabled solutions to workforce planning or organizational effectiveness.
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent HR certification.

Travel: Approximately 10–15%, including occasional international travel.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $210,200.00–$280,200.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
