Position Summary

e.l.f. Beauty is looking for a Sr. Director, Finance to support the Naturium brand, reporting to the VP, Finance, Naturium. The role stewards long-range planning, annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and performance management, while shaping global pricing strategy and driving proactive margin expansion. The leader partners with the Naturium General Manager and cross-functional teams in Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations to translate Naturium’s strategy into financial outcomes across accelerating growth and global expansion.

Responsibilities:

    • Long-Range Planning and Strategy Development:
      • Build and own the three-to-five-year Long-Range Plan for the Naturium brand, covering growth, gross margin, opex, capex, working capital, and cash flow.
      • Model strategic pathways aligned to Naturium priorities including brand awareness investments, innovation roadmaps, channel mix shifts, and international expansion.
      • Establish milestones, KPIs, and sensitivity cases connecting strategic choices to P&L, balance sheet, and cash outcomes.
      • Oversight of Annual Budget and Monthly Forecast Cycles:
        • Lead the Naturium annual operating plan process, aligning revenue, trade, COGS, inventory, staffing, and marketing investment with e.l.f. planning calendars.
        • Run a disciplined monthly forecast cadence with variance analysis, risk and opportunity tracking, and clear guidance to deliver commitments.
        • Implement governance, templates, and driver-based models to improve forecast accuracy and speed.
        • Ad Hoc and Pro Forma Analyses with Scenario Planning:
          • Deliver ROI, NPV/IRR, and payback analyses for Naturium initiatives including new product launches, channel expansion, promotions, and capital investments.
          • Construct scenario models for innovation pipelines, retailer negotiations, supply continuity, and international entries, culminating in decision-ready recommendations.
          • Build pro forma P&Ls for new markets and major programs, including specialty beauty and mass retail opportunities.
          • Global Pricing Strategy and Proactive Margin Expansion:
            • Define global list and net pricing architecture for Naturium by channel and region, maintaining guardrails that protect brand equity and retailer relationships.
            • Optimize gross-to-net through cost-to-serve analysis, trade terms, and promotional strategy in partnership with Sales.
            • Expand structural gross margin via COGS engineering, value analysis, and mix management across core “holy grails” and newness.
            • Performance Management and Business Partnering:
              • Lead monthly Naturium performance readouts with insights on sales, gross-to-net, opex, marketing ROI, and inventory health.
              • Serve as primary finance partner to Naturium Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain; translate business plans into measurable financial targets.
              • Stand up KPI dashboards and automate reporting to enhance transparency and speed of decision-making.
              • Operational Excellence and Controls:
                • Strengthen close and consolidation processes with Corporate Accounting; ensure robust reconciliations and policy adherence.
                • Uphold internal controls and audit readiness; maintain financial integrity across systems and processes.
                • Drive continuous improvement across tools, data quality, and process efficiency.
                • Team Leadership:
                  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Naturium finance team; set clear goals and elevate analytical rigor.
                  • Foster a culture of accountability, curiosity, and partnership within e.l.f.’s finance community and Naturium stakeholders.

Requirements:

    • 10–15+ years of progressive finance experience in CPG/beauty, retail, or related high-growth environments; brand FP&A and commercial finance preferred.
    • Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA and/or CPA/CMA preferred.
    • Demonstrated ownership of LRP, AOP, and rolling forecast processes with driver-based models and KPI frameworks.
    • Expertise in pricing strategy, gross-to-net management, and margin expansion across multi-channel and international portfolios.
    • Advanced financial modeling skills; proficiency with ERP, EPM, and BI tools (e.g., SAP/NetSuite, Anaplan/Adaptive, Power BI/Tableau/Looker).
    • Strong command of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow; proven ability to link brand strategy to financial outcomes.
    • Executive communication and influence skills; capable of distilling complex analyses into clear actions for senior audiences.
    • People leadership track record with talent development and team-building success.

Success Measures:

    • Accurate, timely LRP/AOP and forecasts with improving forecast error over time.
    • Delivered gross margin expansion and improved net revenue realization.
    • Higher ROI on marketing and trade investments with clear test-and-learn insights.
    • Insight-rich monthly performance readouts that drive decisive actions.
    • Scalable processes, strong controls, and a developed finance bench.

The base salary range for this role is listed above. 
 
Total compensation includes base salary, annual company-based performance bonus, and equity. Under e.l.f.’s annual bonus program, employees are eligible to earn up to 200% of their target bonus when company performance exceeds defined goals. In addition, e.l.f. provides a variety of other benefits to employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement savings plan, gender neutral parental leave, and unlimited paid time off. The amount of total compensation (including base salary) offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including geographic location, experience, specific skills, and qualifications.
