Position Description


As the Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the efforts to maintain and improve the company's Cloud Infrastructure and CI/CS services. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our Cloud operations, as well as driving innovation and technology-driven solutions to support our business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code methodology
  • Administer and optimize our CI/CD pipelines for builds and deployments
  • Manage our HashiCorp Vault implementation for secure secrets management across environments
  • Develop and maintain Terraform configurations in Terraform Cloud for consistent infrastructure provisioning
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure system reliability
  • Collaborate with development teams to streamline deployment workflows and enhance developer experience
  • Automate repetitive operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce human error
  • Lead incident response efforts and conduct post-incident reviews
  • Document infrastructure architecture, processes, and runbooks

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles
  • Strong understanding of AWS services and architecture (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda)
  • Proven experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation and team collaboration
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, particularly TeamCity
  • Working knowledge of HashiCorp Vault or similar secrets management systems
  • Solid scripting abilities in at least one language (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Experience with version control systems and Git workflows
  • Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices

*Candidates must be local to Carlsbad, CA or willing to relocate. This is an onsite-only role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code testing frameworks
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
  • Understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices
  • Experience with monitoring tools and observability platforms

Compensation

We are pleased to provide a competitive salary and benefits. Our benefits reflect our investment in the overall health and well-being of our employees and their families. including paying 100% of monthly healthcare, dental and vision insurance premiums, a 401(k) plan with employer matching, and unlimited PTO. The expected pay range is: $150,000 to $170,000 annually plus a bonus opportunity. Compensation may vary based on related skills, experience, and relevant key attributes.
