As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will manage cloud infrastructure and CI/CD processes, ensuring the reliability and scalability of our systems while collaborating with the engineering team.
About Machina Labs
Machina Labs was founded in 2019 to redefine how the world manufactures. Based in Los Angeles, we are pioneering the software-defined factories of the future—where advanced robotics and artificial intelligence replace rigid tooling and enable rapid, flexible production at any scale.
Our mission is simple yet transformative: unlock manufacturing and unconstrained innovation. By developing modular robotic forming systems, we empower industries such as aerospace, automotive, and defense to design, prototype, and produce with unprecedented speed, efficiency, and sustainability.
Backed by leading deep-tech investors, including NVIDIA’s NVentures, Innovation Endeavors, and Lockheed Martin Ventures, Machina Labs is building the first commercial robotic sheet metal forming machines—creating a future where manufacturing is as agile and adaptive as software.
Every day, we work side by side with some of the world’s most innovative organizations to solve their toughest challenges and accelerate the pace of progress. At Machina Labs, we’re not just building robots; we’re reshaping entire industries.
Join us as we bring the factory of the future to life!
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our exciting journey as part of our growing software engineering team. In this role you will build, scale, and own the cloud infrastructure as well as CI/CD and release processes that are a critical part of our advanced robotics manufacturing platform. You’ll play a foundational role in defining how we deploy, secure, monitor, and manage our systems across multiple environments.
This is a rare opportunity for an experienced engineer to take the lead on infrastructure strategy, streamline development workflows, and partner with a high-performing engineering team to deliver reliable, observable, and scalable systems. You’ll be hands-on from day one and grow into a leadership role as we scale. At the baseline, you are a great team player, pragmatic and methodical, passionate about technology, and find the idea of working with giant robots exciting.
What You’ll Do
- Design and manage Azure Gov cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
- Define and maintain our CI/CD pipelines, enabling consistent and automated deployment workflows
- Manage secrets, certificates, and authentication across services
- Establish and maintain multi-environment deployments and release strategies
- Instrument systems for observability, including logging, monitoring, alerting, and tracing
- Triage infrastructure issues and ultimately guide on-call processes across the engineering team (we are not yet at scale where it is necessary)
- Offload core DevOps responsibilities from IT and provide tooling support for software teams
- Set foundational practices and grow the DevOps function as we scale
- Collaborate with software engineers to improve delivery speed, reliability, and system performance
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms, with Azure as a key requirement
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
- Strong background in cloud orchestration, release management, and production deployments
- Deep understanding of secrets management, certificates, and secure service communication
- Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.)
- Proven ability to organize and clean up infrastructure sprawl across cloud platforms
- Experience with containerized deployment (Docker or K8s)
- Ability to think strategically and act tactically when triaging complex systems
- Startup experience and comfort owning systems in a high-ambiguity environment
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting infrastructure for robotics, hardware, or real-time systems
- Exposure to infrastructure cost optimization, access control, or hybrid cloud models
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and other HashiCorp tools (e.g., Vault, Consul)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene
Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.
Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech
- Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
- Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
- Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
- Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
