Job summary:

The IT Enterprise Architecture, Network, Cloud and Data Platform Group at HOOPP is committed to delivering meaningful customer value in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. We cultivate a culture that emphasizes innovation, collaboration, practicality, and the courage to challenge the status quo.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Cloud Platform, the Sr. DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, maintaining and supporting cloud infrastructure and operations for HOOPP’s Investment, Finance, and Risk Management teams. You will collaborate closely with Application Delivery teams, Enterprise Architects, the Project Management Office and Governance, Information Security, and Infrastructure Network Product Owners and business partners to ensure that cloud operations and initiatives are fully aligned with organizational objectives.

What you will do:

  • Utilize your in-depth knowledge and expertise in designing, deploying, and managing scalable, reliable, and automated cloud infrastructure solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize AWS cloud environments to ensure performance, security, and cost-efficiency.

  • Independently lead key initiatives that require interfacing with internal customers and stakeholders to gather requirements, design, plan and implement reliable and secure solutions that meet customer and stakeholder requirements.

  • Collaborate with development and cross IT functional teams to integrate and optimize cloud-based applications.

  • Create and maintain documentation for cloud architectures, configurations, and processes.

  • Develop and maintain automated processes for cloud provisioning, configuration, and management, particularly within the AWS environment.

  • Support Product Owner and design systems to eliminate or reduce manual effort and complexity through automation and Infrastructure as Code practices.

  • Stay informed on emerging technologies to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Provide technical support, triage, prioritize, track, and resolve production problems and operational issues; use analytical thinking, tools, and judgement to identify root causes and long-term solutions.

  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide support outside regular working hours.

  • Strengthen security posture by responding to security incidents and enforce information security best practices.

  • Mentor junior colleagues and invests time to grow individuals in a technical capacity; acts as a subject matter expert to guide and share knowledge across departmental teams.

What you bring:

  • 6+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure Operations with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure, scripting, CI/CD, automation, and system monitoring, with a focus on troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

  • Proven expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, including hands-on experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

  • Experience with Windows Server and Linux systems combined with familiarity with Windows Server administration, including Active Directory and DNS.

  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and data protection strategies, with the ability to implement best practices for securing cloud infrastructure.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform deep technical analysis and troubleshooting of system and performance issues related to OS configuration or cloud infrastructure.

  • Hands-on experience with scripting and automation using Bash, PowerShell, and Python to streamline and optimize administrative workflows.

  • Experience with vulnerability management, patch management, and maintaining compliance across hybrid environments.

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively in complex technical environments.

  •  Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Certifications in cloud platforms or infrastructure tools are considered assets (e.g., AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer – Associate, Azure Administrator Associate, Terraform Associate, CKAD)
