Job Summary:

The Senior Compliance Analyst serves as the subject matter expert and point of contact for individual disability income product compliance across the organization. Secondary responsibilities include supporting product compliance for voluntary supplemental health products. This role monitors and interprets evolving legal requirements and translates regulatory obligations into practical business processes, guidance, and controls.


This role partners with product, legal, actuarial, operations, claims, implementation, and service teams to ensure compliant product design, implementation, and administration of individual disability insurance products and other supplemental health products.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Monitoring & Interpretation: Monitor, analyze, and interpret complex federal and state statutes and regulations. Assess business impact and communicate implications to stakeholders. Partner with affected business units to develop compliant solutions.
  • Risk Assessment & Compliance Oversight: Perform compliance monitoring, testing, and control assessments. Identify risks, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend remediation strategies aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Policy & Documentation Development: Draft, update, and maintain policies, procedures, job aids, training materials, and compliance guidance to support consistent and compliant operations.
  • Business Partnership & Advisory: Provide subject matter expertise and consultative guidance to business units on compliance initiatives, including product design, implementation, and ongoing administration. Research complex questions using internal and external resources. Support development and review of advertising pieces and customer-facing materials as well as new business acquisitions and entry into new markets. 
  • Product Filings: Assist in drafting of contract language for new products, enhancements, and single-case filings, lead complex multi-state filings, and negotiate complex and/or sensitive approvals with state departments of insurance. 
  • Industry Interaction: Participate in trade association calls and attend industry meetings to monitor trends and provide appropriate feedback in the development of new laws and product standards. Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with industry contacts.
  • Audit & Regulatory Support: Support internal audits and regulatory examinations by organizing documentation, responding to inquiries, and assisting with corrective action plans. Deliver training, presentations, and guidance on compliance requirements and emerging regulatory trends.

Skills and Background You’ll Need:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (business, legal, or related field preferred)

Certification: Professional certifications in compliance or insurance (e.g., AIRC, FLMI, or similar) (preferred)

Experience: 

  • 4–6+ years of compliance, regulatory, or related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting regulatory requirements and applying them to business operations with the ability to translate complex regulations into practical guidance.
  • Proven ability to manage complex work, assess risk, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of individual disability insurance and/or other supplemental health regulatory compliance environments.
  • Experience with individual disability insurance or supplemental health product filings, including filing through the Interstate Insurance Compact. (preferred)
  • Prior experience developing training materials and compliance guidance. (preferred)

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on a variety of factors including individual and organizational performance.

The actual compensation for this role will be based on a combination of education and experience, knowledge and skills, position budget, internal equity, and market data.

Salary Range:

$76,250.00 - $111,500.00
