We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. We recognize that mental health issues can be complex and multifaceted, and we are dedicated to treating the whole person, not just the symptoms.

We aim to create a world where mental health is no longer stigmatized or marginalized, but rather is embraced as an integral part of one's overall well-being.

We believe that by providing quality care that is both evidence-based and compassionate, we can empower individuals to take charge of their mental health and achieve their full potential. We are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of those struggling with mental health issues and we strive to be a force for positive change in the field of mental healthcare.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader for our Financial Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and overseeing our medical coding compliance / standards, ensuring adherence to healthcare regulations, and leading initiatives to enhance accuracy and efficiency in coding and documentation practices. You will leverage your expertise as a medical coder and your management experience to work cross-functionally and ensure regulatory compliance. Consulting experience and a strong background in establishing coding compliance functions will be highly valuable as you guide the organization through complex healthcare compliance challenges.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience.

  • Experience with a consulting-like approach to solving a problem at scale using non-traditional team based approaches.

  • Experience as a certified medical coder (CPC or equivalent) with hands-on experience in medical coding, including proficiency in coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.

  • Experience applying structure, prioritization and effective communication to solve problems not just for the current state, but also predict future need and scale operations.

  • Proven leadership ability with experience managing and mentoring teams in coding compliance, auditing, or related healthcare functions.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, CMS guidelines, and other state/federal healthcare laws.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

  • Ability to convey complex compliance and coding issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This includes internal teams and external parties (i.e. payers).

Preferred Qualifications

While having the preferred qualifications enhances your candidacy, having all of them is not mandatory. We encourage all interested applicants to apply, even those who may not meet every preferred requirement.

  • Consulting experience that demonstrates your ability to advise organizations on compliance strategies, processes, and systems.

  • Experience in establishing or leading coding compliance functions, including the development and implementation of processes, policies, and audit strategies.

  • Experience using data analytics with proficiency in Google/Excel (required), SQL (nice to have), Looker (nice to have)

  • Experience working with many technologies from AdvancedMD (AMD) and other vendors and understand at a high-level how data flows and what is possible.

  • Experience with behavioral health services / compliance.

We're serious about your well-being! As part of our team, full-time employees receive:

  • 100% remote work environment (US-based only): Working hours to support a healthy work-life balance, ensuring you can meet both professional and personal commitments

  • Attractive pay and benefits: Full transparency of pay ranges regardless of where you live in the United States

  • Comprehensive health benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and FSA/HSA

  • 401(k) plan access: Start saving for your future

  • Generous time-off policies: Including 2 company-wide shutdown weeks each year for self-care (for most employees)

  • Paid parental leave: Available for all parents, including birthing, non-birthing, adopting, and fostering

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Support for your mental and physical health

  • New hire home office stipend: Set up your workspace for success

  • Quarterly department stipend: Fund team-building activities or in-person gatherings

  • Wellness events and lunch & learns: Explore a variety of engaging topics

  • Community and employee resource groups: Participate in groups that celebrate employee identity and lived experiences, fostering a sense of community and belonging for all

Our team

We believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental to our mission of making mental healthcare work for everyone.  We are dedicated to having a culture of inclusion that will support our employees in feeling safe, seen, heard, and valued.

Compensation Range: $165.8K - $185.3K

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
