**Travel to Office expectations**
For Remote Roles: As this role is remote, there will be in-office events that will require travel to and from the Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City office. These will include, but not limited to, onboarding, team events, semi-annual and annual team meetings.
For Hybrid Roles: As this role is Hybrid, there will be an expectation to reside within commutable distance to the office/location specified in the job listing. Position Summary:
The Senior Application Engineer: NetSuite/Salesforce plays an important role focused on prioritizing deliverables set by the Enterprise Solutions & Applications department in partnership with the broader internal offices of PointClickCare. A continuous-improvement mindset and a positive, supportive, personality is essential to the success of this role.
The Senior Application Engineer: NetSuite/Salesforce will be responsible for aiding the process of defining and developing the system requirements of our internal business partners. The Engineer will also lead the development of technical documentation and provide training on the systems and processes developed by the Enterprise Applications group.
This role serves as a key supporter of our NetSuite and Salesforce implementations, ensuring that customization and configuration decisions are made with the long-term health of these applications in mind. The role will focus heavily on cross-functional team collaboration, NetSuite and Salesforce configuration/customization, and internal business unit consulting.
Key Responsibilities:
· Serve as day-to-day technical platform consultant for cross-functional teams and business units such as Sales, Professional Services, Finance etc.
· Translate business requirements and project objectives into detailed system requirements and/or use cases, technical designs and implement NetSuite and Salesforce solutions ensuring alignment with business requirements, Org health reduction of technical debt.
· Configure NetSuite modules based on business requirements.
· Develop SuiteScripts to extend and enhance system functionality.
· Create and modify SuiteFlow workflows to automate business processes.
· Determine when to use declarative versus programmatic methods adhering to industry best practices
· Develop and maintain Apex (classes and triggers) to extend Salesforce in a scalable manner, to support business requirements
· Design, build, implement, document and test scalable Salesforce solutions or enhanced applications while leveraging the maximum benefit from systems and minimizing technical debt.
· Peer review, perform unit test and ensure that configurations maintain standards, integrity and reliability of core applications and integrations.
· Maintain industry standard code documentation
· Perform technical support processes and activities for the implementation of new or existing applications
· Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshoot potential defects, as necessary
· Evaluate new products and services to judge their suitability for use
· Preliminary research and investigation of software and technologies
· Coach and mentor peers on Salesforce and NetSuite development best practices
· Other duties as assigned
Required Experience:
· University degree or College diploma
· 5+ years hands-on experience as NetSuite Developer
· 2+ years hands-on experience as Salesforce Developer
· NetSuite Application Developer Certification preferred
· NetSuite Administrator and Foundation certifications are preferred.
· Expert experience of SuiteScript, SuiteFlow, SuiteTalk, and SuiteBuilder.
· Experience with SuiteCommerce is preferred.
· Experience working on DevOps pipelines e.g., Copado or similar
· Experience with GitHub preferred
· Solid understanding of Salesforce.com Sales & Service Cloud key concepts, including: Campaign Management, Lead Management, Opportunity Management, Territory Management & Case Management
· Salesforce developer certifications preferred
· Salesforce Administrator certifications preferred
· Proficient in Apex, JavaScript, and VisualForce
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Strong organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills
· Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
· Ability to learn quickly and a continuous learning mindset preferred
