The Sports Marketing Manager, Player Services - Tennis oversees and manages all tennis sponsorship programs, promotional events, and ensures that our programs and partnerships create growth opportunities and drive business results.
Responsibilities
- Oversee tennis promotional activities. This includes planning, managing, and executing tennis sponsorship programs including player sponsorships, scouting team, coaches, colleges, academies, and tennis sports marketing events
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Customer Service, Sales, Accounting, and Warehouse for promotional activities.
- Maintain and grow relationships with key contacts in tennis industry, including top talent, coaches, and association contacts
- Manage the Yonex Scouting and Coaches team to scout and recruit top talent, support player testing, and report on competitor activity
- Main point of contact for players, coaches, scouts, and colleges / universities for product feedback, orders, and any other inquiries
- Responsible to forecast, manage, and report on players' product inventory
- Plan, manage, and attend tournaments, training camps, and other sports marketing events related to player services
- Report on current products, market conditions, competitor activities, advertising, and promotional trends
- This position requires travel to tournaments and events mainly within the U.S.
- Will require work on weekends and outside standard work hours
- May require work on holidays
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Business Administration, Marketing, Graphic Design, or related field is preferred
- 3-5 years of player services or sports marketing experience
- Must have specialized experience or knowledge of the tennis sports industry, tennis equipment, and methods for promoting and selling products or services.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
- Acute attention to detail
- Ability to organize and prioritize work schedule on short and long term as well as the ability to meet strict deadlines
- Possess strong oral and written communication, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to write formal business letters, contracts, and proposals
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and timelines
- Knowledge of competitive tennis, tennis products, and the tennis industry with enthusiasm

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Continually required to sit for prolonged periods of time
- Occasionally required to walk, stand and utilize finger dexterity
- Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and use a keyboard
- Occasionally required to lift, push, and/or carry items up to 30 pounds
- Mainly works indoors in a climate-controlled environment, but may occasionally work outside with exposure to various weather conditions
- May be required to travel up to 30% of the time
