Founded in 2013, AIM Sports Group is a premier youth sports enterprise located in Seal Beach, CA. AIM Sports Group owns and operates three primary businesses AIM Sportsplex (venue), SoCal Cup (owned and operated sports property and AIM Sports Studio (full service studio built for sports content and production – from esports to original content and media). All three are in high growth mode, as the company is on plan to double in size over the next 12 months.

Job Description

The Sports Marketing Director will oversee all AIM Sports Group’s enterprise brand marketing efforts, including branding, advertising, brand partnerships, event sponsorships, and activations. The position collaborates with counterparts across the organization to ensure the continued evolution, relevance and prestige of the group and its businesses as you build out the sports marketing discipline for the Group.

This is a new position within this entrepreneurial and fast-growing sports enterprise, and as such, will need to flex between being a big picture strategic thinker and a roll up your sleeves organization/team builder. You will have the ability to tap marketing services (from ‘sister’ companies) as resources; as well as build dedicated resources within your team.

The prioritization in the role is to build out and oversee the (3) marquis events for SoCal Cup; including the experiential event side of the event and brand sponsorships in collaborate with an external sports partnership agency.

Qualifications

What We Want You To Do:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the marketing strategy in support of company’s vision and mission, as well as business objectives.
  • Provide leadership, consultation, and guidance to ensure all efforts meet business growth goals, as well as to ensure coordination of AIM’s marketing needs across all business lines and with any partners to maximize value.
  • Develop sports marketing programs tied for So Cal Cup; including the relationships and deliverables of internal and external teams / partners (e.g. experiential, specialty marketing and sales agencies).
  • Evolve partnership marketing to effectively demonstrate value to the brand and its business (financial) contribution to growth and to continue advancing AIM’s brand on a broader level through sports, entertainment and gaming.

What We Want You To Have:

  • Experience working within a sports marketing discipline, driving new initiatives marketing communications and partnerships / sponsorships.
    • Youth sports industries a plus.
  • Experience building teams and disciplines within an organization.
  • Demonstrated successful experience working with brands/industries in transition, evolution and/or transformation.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of effective sports marketing strategies.
  • Ability to communicate persuasively and advocate to a wide range of both internal and external customers and stakeholders in written and verbal forms.
  • Innovative thinker
  • Strong results orientation
  • Minimum seven (7) year’s experience in sports marketing.
  • Minimum five (5) years management experience with demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Bachelors degree.
