Who We Are

Maybern is transforming the way private fund managers effectively manage their funds through cutting edge technology. Maybern is founded by top engineering experts with deep knowledge of the fund management space.

Private funds manage $15T in capital and are growing at 20% YoY, but with increasing regulatory scrutiny and investor demands for transparency, the need for world class software to help private fund CFOs is crucial.

This is where Maybern comes in.

We are equipping fund managers with intuitive, flexible fund management software, enabling private investment managers to focus on what they do best: driving returns for their investors. We are backed by leading venture capital firms and a large number of strategic investors.

Maybern is an NYC based company with a strong in-office culture to drive collaboration, and we are looking to make strong additions to our team.

What We're Looking For

We're hiring our first dedicated Solutions Engineer to own the technical sales motion for enterprise deals. Our enterprise pipeline requires tailored technical demos that include fund-specific configurations, live waterfall Q&A, and structured implementation handoffs.

The right person has genuine PE fund accounting depth and has run enterprise demos at this deal size before. You know how to translate a discovery template into a configured demo environment, handle technical questions live from CFOs and controllers, and produce handoff documentation that prepares Implementation for a clean go-live. You've built SE artifacts from scratch before and have the track record to show it.

What You'll Do
  • Set up and Run enterprise demos. You'll translate discovery templates into tailored demo environments configured to each prospect's actual fund structure -- LPA terms, waterfall mechanics, fee structures, credit facilities. You run 2-4 enterprise demos per month independently and handle live technical Q&A from CFOs and controllers.

  • Own the implementation handoff. You'll produce the documentation packages that ensure Implementations has everything they need before a deal closes. You'll draft the handoff template and define feature gap severity frameworks (Red/Yellow/Green) with Product.

  • Bridge sales and product. You'll track feature gaps systematically in Linear, triage blockers versus nice-to-haves, and translate customer requirements into structured product feedback -- without overpromising roadmap.

  • Contribute to the SE playbook. You're the first dedicated SE at Maybern. The enterprise demo guide, handoff documentation standards, and go-live blocker workflow exist in early form and you will help make them rigorous and repeatable.

Who You Are
  • PE fund admin fluent. You understand waterfalls (American, European, hybrid), preferred returns, GP catch-up, tiered carry, credit facilities, capital calls, and LP reporting -- not at a surface level, but well enough to configure demo environments to match a prospect's LPA and answer technical accounting questions live.

  • AI fluent. You use AI tools, including MCP-based workflows, as a genuine part of how you work. You see AI as a force multiplier for the volume and quality demands of this role.

  • Demo-ready. You've run tailored technical demos for enterprise deals ($500K+ ACV). You prepare with structure, configure environments to match prospect needs, and know how to handle questions you can't answer in the room.

  • Cross-functional. You're equally effective as the technical voice in a sales conversation and the customer voice in a product conversation. You've partnered with implementation teams on handoff quality and with product teams on feature gap communication.

  • A problem solver. You get into the weeds on complex problems and don't leave them unresolved.

This Could Be a Great Fit If You…
  • Have 3+ years in solutions engineering, sales engineering, or technical pre-sales at a B2B SaaS company

  • Have direct experience at a fund admin software company

  • Have experience running tailored product demos for enterprise prospects

  • Can translate complex accounting/financial concepts into clear, compelling product demonstrations

  • Possess strong written documentation skills - this role produces implementation handoff packages

  • Are comfortable with technical configuration, including setting up demo environments via MCP to match prospect fund structures

  • Are familiar with AI tools and use them actively in your workflow, not just occasionally

  • Are familiar with CRM (Salesforce) and issue tracking (Linear or similar) workflows

Benefits
  • We offer a competitive salary + equity package, comprehensive benefits, and a flexible family-friendly work environment. Some of our perks include:

    • Comprehensive healthcare benefits

      • Maybern covers 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums

      • HSA & FSA plans

    • Family-Friendly policies

      • Paid parental leave

    • Flexible schedule

      • Flexible PTO / sick leave

      • WFH as needed to fit your needs

    • 401k

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
