The Solution Architect will work within our Solutions organization and collaborate with Sales, Product, Delivery, Engineering teams, and clients on the effective design, delivery, and management of GridX SaaS implementations. You will be the go-to resource for clients and internal stakeholders providing expertise on how our software works, what it can do, the data it needs to run, and how to address our toughest client needs and implementation challenges.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop extensive GridX product expertise and establish credibility with internal stakeholders and clients as a trusted advisor on all key aspects of our software's capabilities and implementation needs.
  • Collaborate across the company to support the end-to-end GridX software implementation process, from sales to delivery to operations.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives that reduce implementation timelines and raise delivery quality.
  • Assist in developing pricing, costing, and delivery schedules for individual implementations, in collaboration with Sales, Product, and Delivery teams.
  • Evaluate individual customer needs and requirements against GridX product offerings and capabilities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on GridX products when assessing client needs, identifying project scope, and developing implementation plans.
  • Lead client workshops and information gathering sessions centered around data acquisition, data mapping, and business requirements.
  • Participate in client workshops centered around utility tariffs, rate/pricing calculations, rate design, and customer analytics.
  • Author functional and technical documents specifying all aspects of a client deployment including requirements, data mapping, integrations, and configurations.
  • Support client roadmap for data integrations, including data gap analysis, data mapping, and data QA analysis.
  • Coordinate product enhancements requests required for specific implementations between Solutions and Product teams.
  • Assist Delivery teams in translating client needs into effective configurations within GridX products.
  • Lead internal and external stakeholder management on individual implementations, ensuring both customer satisfaction and alignment across teams.
  • Help ensure successful delivery of product solutions that exceed client needs and expectations.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Project Manager, or Software Implementation Consultant.
  • Strong affinity for data and background in data architecture or analytics.
  • Expertise in the utility or energy industries with a strong preference for rates and tariffs, billing, AMI and distributed energy resources.
  • Ability to build relationships and develop credibility with clients in sales and delivery settings.
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with client technical resources when providing information on data architecture, system architecture, and system capabilities.
  • Ability to distill complex ideas and translate them into terms relevant to disparate stakeholders, including engineers, designers, business experts, and laypeople.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to apply a creative and flexible mindset to problem-solving with the ability to focus on the details while maintaining perspective on the big picture.
  • Ability to travel, up to 10%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in data science, data analytics, or data architecture.
  • Strong background in data integration, including knowledge of data model/database design concepts and familiarity working with relational and non-relational databases (e.g. MySQL, NoSQL).
  • Experience in cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills.
  • Experience working with a startup.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
