RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the development of satellite command and control, mission planning, and data processing software systems using Elixir
- Contribute to team discussions on architecture, design, and code reviews
- Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to build effective systems
- Take on well-scoped tasks and features with guidance from senior engineers
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, completed or graduating within the next 4 months
- Exposure to functional programming concepts through coursework, personal projects, or prior experience
- Introductory experience with Elixir, Erlang, or similar functional languages (e.g., Haskell, Clojure, F#)
- Interest in resilient, fault-tolerant system design
- Strong written and oral communication skills and aptitude for working across disciplines
- Enjoys debugging and problem solving
- Interest in distributed systems
- A strong bias towards understanding how things work rather than accepting the status quo
- U.S. Citizen and eligible for DoD Secret or TS/SCI clearance
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Familiarity with Elixir and OTP concepts including GenServers, supervision trees, or the Actor model
- Exposure to databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Interest in distributed systems, real-time or game engine backends
- Familiarity with authentication concepts such as OAuth2 or role-based access controls
COMPENSATION
- Base Salary: $28/hour
