Ensure critical systems are reliable, auditable, and scalable across products, countries, currencies, and 16x growth. Develop new payment rails, trust tooling, and platform capabilities while using AI agents throughout the software development lifecycle.

As a Senior Software Engineer, Product Platform, you'll own the systems every product at Triumph runs on. Cross-platform payments and the ledger behind them, onboarding and identity, notifications, anti-fraud and player trust, and the internal dashboard our operations and support teams work from all live on our platform, and every team at Triumph depends on them staying healthy, resilient, and growing. You'll make these critical systems stronger, more reliable, and more capable, while building the next generation of them and the infrastructure that lets a small team move fast on systems that handle real money. Your work is visible across the whole company, and you'll have the flexibility to take on greenfield projects that make the entire engineering team more productive.
What You'll Do

  • Own the stability of Triumph's critical systems. Keep the platform every product depends on healthy and resilient as we grow, and be the person every team trusts when those systems matter most.

  • Build the systems that move and account for real money. Design for correctness, durability, and auditability across every processor and product we run on.

  • Protect players and the platform. Build the anti-fraud enforcement, dispute handling, and player-trust systems that keep real-money gaming fair, and give support and operations the tooling to act on them.

  • Scale core systems through hypergrowth. Take identity verification, geolocation and eligibility rules, and the background job and webhook infrastructure that ties everything together from working to working at 16x volume, across products and countries.

  • Own the internal dashboard and operational tooling. The surface our support, payments-ops, and fraud teams live in every day. Make it faster to see what's happening and safer to act on it.

  • Expand what the platform can do. New payment rails, new markets and currencies, and new capabilities every product team can build on.

  • Make AI a core part of how you build. We plan, build, and review with AI agents every day. You'll push that further and set the standard for how the team works with them.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years building complex platform systems at scale, with the judgment to know which problems matter.

  • Professional experience scaling core systems like communications, onboarding, payments, or fraud and trust as usage grew by orders of magnitude.

  • High flexibility and independence. You take ambiguous, cross-cutting problems and own them end to end.

  • You treat AI development as a core part of your workflow, not a novelty, and you can show how it changed what you ship.

  • Strong backend fundamentals. Our stack is Go and Postgres on Google Cloud; deep experience in any typed backend language transfers.

Nice to Have

  • Experience scaling infrastructure at a startup.

  • Direct fintech experience, or direct gaming platform experience.

  • Familiarity with vendors in the banking, identity, and communication space.

Why Triumph?

  • High growth. Build the platform under a high-scale consumer product that touches gaming, finance, and social, with 16x year-over-year growth.

  • High agency. We let builders build. Blast radius is contained by modularity and feature flags, not by process and approval gates. Small team, real ownership, significant room for leadership.

  • High stakes. Real money moves through your systems every minute. The work is visible, and it matters.

  • Competitive salary and benefits. $400/mo lunch credit, healthcare, vision, dental, 401k, etc.

  • In person. Our team gathers 5 days a week at Triumph's headquarters at Levi's Plaza in San Francisco.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
