Software Engineer/Principal Software Engineer - DevSecOps (San Diego - Hybrid)
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Software Engineer/Principal Software Engineer - DevSecOps / DevOps to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Software organization. This partially hybrid role is located on site in San Diego, California.
In this role you will be working with the latest technology to modernize software product production with DevSecOps - continuous build, continuous integration, continuous test, continuous cyber, continuous deployment, and continuous metrics on aerospace programs. Specifically, you will be responsible for the design, architecture, development, deployment, and operation of modern DevSecOps software factory. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams, such as with Systems Engineering, Real-time & Embedded Software, Test Automation, DevSecOps, and Systems Test in an Agile software development environment.
Job Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
Work in an innovative environment, on significantly diverse assignments, and in collaborative team settings across all levels
Coordinate program builds and delivery pipelines
Implement all segments of DevSecOps lifecycle - continuous build, continuous integration, continuous test, continuous cyber, and continuous deployment pipeline
Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders on build and delivery schedule
Automate and simplify the build and delivery process
This position may be filled as either a level 2 Software Engineer or level 3 Principal Software Engineer.
Basic Qualifications for level 2:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and entry level related engineering experience
Demonstrated Professional Experience with Agile Framework
Demonstrated Professional Experience with at least one object-oriented programming language (Java, JavaScript, C++, C#, Python, Swift) and software development lifecycle
Demonstrated Professional Experience with Software Change Control, Change Management, and CI/CD tools such as: Atlassian (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo), AND/OR GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes
Active U.S. Government Secret clearance OR Top Secret (in-scope)
Basic Qualifications for level 3:

Demonstrated Professional Experience with Agile Framework within the last 3 years
Demonstrated Professional Experience with at least one object-oriented programming language (Java, JavaScript, C++, C#, Python, Swift) and software development lifecycle
Demonstrated Professional Experience with Software Change Control, Change Management, and CI/CD tools such as: Atlassian (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo), AND/OR GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes
Demonstrated Professional Experience with implementing DevSecOps lifecycle - continuous (build, integration, test, deployment, cyber, monitoring)
Active U.S. Government Secret clearance OR Top Secret (in-scope)
Preferred Qualifications:
Differentiating characteristics include demonstrated leadership, teamwork capabilities, strong time management, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated Professional Experience with configuration of virtual machines and virtual networks (VPC, NSX-T, NSX-V)
Certification with cloud technology (AWS, VMWare, Azure, Kubernetes) at the beginner level
Demonstrated Professional Experience with implementing the automated collection and reporting of software metrics
Demonstrated Professional Experience with implementing cyber analysis regimen on program
Demonstrated Professional Experience with implementing cyber remediation and cyber compliance on a program
Demonstrated Professional Experience with implementing, and operation of cyber remediation and Risk Management Framework (RMF)
Active U.S. Government Top Secret (in-scope) clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
