About Sprinter Health

At Sprinter Health, our mission is reimagining how people access care by bringing it directly to their homes. Nearly 30% of patients in the U.S. skip preventive or chronic care simply because they can’t get to a doctor’s office. For many, the ER becomes their first touchpoint with the healthcare system, driving over $300B in avoidable costs every year.

By using the same technologies that power leading marketplace and last-mile platforms, we deliver care where people are, especially those who need it most. So far, we’ve supported more than 2 million patients across 22 states, completed 130,000+ in-home visits, and maintained a 92 NPS. Our team of clinicians, technologists, and operators have raised over $125M to date from investors like a16z, General Catalyst, GV, and Accel and enjoy multi-year runway.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer (5+ years experience) who is passionate about platform engineering and wants to build the foundational systems that enable our engineering organization to scale.

At Sprinter, you'll build the infrastructure, internal tooling, and shared services that help engineers develop, deploy, and operate software more efficiently. From improving CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure to building developer tools, automation, and observability systems, you'll own the platforms that make our engineering teams faster, more reliable, and more effective.

This is a hands-on software engineering role for someone who enjoys writing code but is most motivated by improving how other engineers build software. You'll work across application code, infrastructure, and operational systems, solving complex technical challenges that have an outsized impact across the organization.

Hybrid & Office Experience

We operate on a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Thursday, with Fridays designated as work-from-anywhere days.

We care deeply about work-life balance and are happy to provide flexibility when life happens. We ask that employees be in the office Monday through Thursday to collaborate with their teams while maintaining flexibility where it matters most.

Lunch is provided every day, and the entire team takes an hour to eat together. It's one of the ways we stay connected outside of meetings. You'll usually find us playing a board game before getting back to work.

What you will do:
  • Design and build internal tools, shared services, and automation that improve developer productivity across engineering teams

  • Own and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and infrastructure that enable engineers to ship software quickly and reliably

  • Build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure, developer environments, and foundational services that support our growing platform

  • Improve observability, monitoring, and operational tooling to make our systems easier to debug, maintain, and operate

  • Develop reusable frameworks, infrastructure components, and self-service tooling that reduce manual work and accelerate development

  • Partner closely with engineering teams to identify bottlenecks, improve development workflows, and drive adoption of platform capabilities

  • Own foundational engineering projects end to end, making pragmatic architectural decisions that balance reliability, scalability, and developer experience

What you have done:
  • Spent 5+ years building and scaling backend software, infrastructure, or platform systems in production

  • Built internal developer tools, automation, shared services, or infrastructure that support multiple engineering teams

  • Worked hands-on with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, deployment systems, and production environments

  • Designed and implemented reliable, maintainable software that improves how other engineers build, test, deploy, or operate applications

  • Led technical projects end to end, from architecture and implementation through rollout, adoption, and ongoing maintenance

  • Collaborated across engineering teams to understand developer pain points and translate them into scalable technical solutions

  • Made technical decisions that balance developer productivity, operational reliability, and long-term maintainability

What gives you an edge:
  • You've deliberately built your career around platform engineering, developer experience, infrastructure, or developer productivity

  • You've built internal platforms, CLIs, frameworks, or self-service tooling adopted by multiple engineering teams

  • You've improved engineering velocity through faster deployments, more reliable CI/CD pipelines, or reduced operational overhead

  • You've worked extensively with AWS, serverless architectures, infrastructure as code, or cloud-native systems

  • You've implemented observability, monitoring, or incident management tooling that improved production reliability

  • You've worked in mid- or growth-stage startups (Series A–C) where infrastructure and developer tooling needed to evolve alongside rapid product development

  • You've measured the success of your work through developer adoption, deployment frequency, system reliability, or improvements in engineering efficiency

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
