Software Engineer II, Frontend

As a sign of the impact Nuna has already made in this space, Nuna was recently selected to join the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Health Tech Ecosystem, a landmark public-private initiative designed to transform healthcare for Americans.

The Nuna Enterprise Engineering team is building a consumer facing portal to manage communication and PHI data transactions between Nuna and our health systems, care team partners and patient focused mobile application. Capabilities include support for multi-channel CRM, CPaaS, BI tooling, EHR integrations.

We leverage a diverse set of tools and skill-sets in a dynamic, fast-paced, cohesive engineering team with opportunities to delve deeper into multiple areas of technical expertise - architecture, data security, full-stack web applications, developer operations and much more.

Our work spans across multiple internal and external teams, including : Product, InfraSec, Trust, Legal+Compliance, Clinical and more. We are a small yet mighty engineering team at Nuna. A successful candidate is a self-motivated, collaborative, hands-on problem solver that readily works across teams and regularly meets ambitious, often self- defined, delivery deadlines, and challenges his/her/their colleagues to raise the bar.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a highly skilled team of engineers and health data experts. Your work will directly impact our ability to provide critical data to our customers in a format that they can understand and rely on.

• Build innovative and beautiful data visualizations that illuminate the path towards higher quality care at lower cost

• Design schemas in partnership with the data engineers and health data experts that can quickly serve results and generate reports

• Build a well-tested, continuously-deployable, and high-quality codebase that supports developer velocity and exceptional reliability

Required Qualifications
This hire must reside in the SF Bay Area, or be willing to relocate, and come into the SF office.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field

• Passionate about our mission: improving healthcare access and affordability for all

• Knowledge of React (state management, call backs, etc) and experience building component based UIs

• Curiosity for learning, being a self-starter who is eager to try new things

• Experience building frontend applications with a focus on modular design

• 2+ years of experience in a full-time software engineering role

• Ability to write clearly and document their ideas

• Passionate about writing high-quality code

• Experience making minor updates to existing APIs in a service-oriented system architecture

• Basic knowledge of API design necessary to draft contracts for frontend integration

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with backend languages such as Java or Kotlin

• Knowledge of multi-tenant enterprise web applications with a focus on scalability

• Experience integrating with RBAC administration systems to manage application content

• Experience excelling in a Healthcare startup environment

• React, NextJS, TypeScript, Kotlin, Java, SQL, build tools (Docker, Gradle, Poetry), testing tools

• Linux, OS X

• AWS ECS, RDS, Security Groups, IAM, Lambda; Hashicorp Terraform and Vault

We take into account an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for health insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, participation in the company’s equity program, paid time off, including vacation and sick leave. The expected salary range for this position is $161,500 to $190,000. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, and skillset.
