Job Description

Primary Function of Position

This role reports to the DV5 Software Release Manager and works collaboratively with a cross-functional team to implement software and processes for build and release, continuous integration, and developer productivity.

The engineer should be an independent and fast-paced developer with excellent problem-solving skills, capable of producing robust, high-quality code in the face of rapidly changing requirements.

The engineer should be comfortable writing code in Python, managing branches with Git, and supporting large, complex projects to support software development goals.

Essential Job Duties 

  • Drive new build and release initiatives, including improvements to continuous integration, developer productivity, and code quality.

  • Develop and maintain custom Git workflows for a large, highly dynamic repository.

  • Work closely with Software Managers, Developers and Test Engineers to maintain software release cadence, traceability, and quality.

  • Support software release activities, including documentation and impact analyses.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience 

  • Experience in software development with Python, Java, Groovy or C/C++ required

  • Experience troubleshooting complex systems required

  • Great communication and analytical skills required

  • Hands on experience with Linux required

Required Education and Training 

  • Bachelors or higher in Software Engineering or related discipline with relevant experience

Preferred Skills and Experience 

  • Experience with software build and release processes is a plus

  • Experience working with embedded and/or electromechanical systems is a plus

  • Experience with Git, Docker, Bazel, Jenkins, Elasticsearch, or Ansible is a plus

  • Experience developing C/C++ on a variety of embedded platforms is a plus

  • Experience with designing software products in an FDA or other regulated industry is a plus

Compensation will be based primarily on the job level at which the role is filled and the
candidate’s qualifications, consistent with applicable law.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target compensation ranges are listed.
