Position Description:
The Flex platform helps clients develop a comprehensive compliance program, leveraging technology to instill a culture of safety and maintain a productive workplace. The platform combines features that are tailored to the needs of our client’s business, including audits and inspections, incident management, flexible training, and reporting and insights.
Our stack includes Node.js, Vue.js, and AWS, and we operate in a Scrum-based, cross-functional environment with meaningful collaboration across product, design, operations, and external partners.
A key mandate of this role is to lead the team toward AI-enabled software development, embedding AI tools across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) to improve speed, quality and leverage. This leader must be technically credible, capable of performing their own development work, and able to review architecture and code with authority.
Knowledge, Experience, Requirements:
Experience managing engineering teams
Experience operating in Agile/Scrum environments
Experience coordinating cross-functional workstreams
Strong experience with Node.js backend systems
Experience with Vue.js or modern frontend frameworks
Working knowledge of AWS infrastructure and cloud-native architectures
Proficient in reviewing system design, architecture, and production code
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Demonstrated experience using AI coding tools in real development workflows
Experience managing vendors and consulting engagements
Hands-on use of AI coding assistants in development and code review
Ability to evaluate AI-generated output for correctness and risk
Experience integrating AI tools into testing, documentation, and refactoring workflows
Clear understanding of AI failure modes and governance considerations

- Deliver predictable sprint outcomes with improved velocity and reduced rework
- Raise code quality standards across the tech stack
- Successfully embed AI tooling into daily engineering workflows with measured improvements to key metrics
- Improve cross-team coordination and reduce delivery bottlenecks
- Establish clear architectural standards and review processes
- Strengthen vendor accountability and delivery quality
- Develop engineers through structured feedback and coaching
- Drive team engagement and retention
- Increase automation and measurable efficiency across the SDLC
- Track and manage dependencies and priorities across multiple concurrent projects
Compensation:
Annual Base Salary Range of 150k-180k
Annual Bonus Opportunity of 15%
