Build Instagram and Pinterest presence from launch: own content calendar, create platform-native content, grow followers and engagement, manage community and UGC/micro-creator relationships, brief creative partners, film/edit short-form content when needed, and track performance to optimize the calendar.

Aprés Nail has innovated the nail market as the creator of Gel-X. We're launching a new brand and we're looking for our next superstar to join our team!

Instagram and Pinterest will be two of the new brand's primary visual-discovery engines—where the brand's aesthetic point of view is established before many customers ever touch the product. This is not a maintenance role on an existing account. This person helps build the brand's presence from the first post, develops platform-native expressions of our identity, and owns audience growth from zero to an engaged community.

This role sits within the shared Aprés Nail social team, with defined capacity and priorities protected for the new brand. The Social Media Manager provides day-to-day people management and channel leadership. The Marketing Manager translates the Brand Director's approved strategy into campaign priorities, briefs, and timing; this specialist owns platform-level recommendations and execution for Instagram and Pinterest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build our Instagram and Pinterest presence from the ground up—including account setup, content pillars, platform best practices, and posting cadence—in partnership with the Social Media Manager, Creative team, and Marketing Manager.
  • Own the content calendar for both platforms: plan, pitch, produce, schedule, and publish a consistent cadence of content tied to launch milestones, campaign priorities, and ongoing brand storytelling.
  • Develop original, platform-native content concepts and repeatable series—not simply adaptations of what works for other brands. The brand should have a distinct point of view, not feel like an Aprés Nail spin-off.
  • Grow followers, reach, and engagement from a standing start, with clear accountability to agreed launch and post-launch targets.
  • Own timely, thoughtful community management across both platforms—including comments and DMs—and surface recurring questions, sentiment shifts, and audience insights to the broader team.
  • Identify and cultivate UGC and micro-creator opportunities suited to each platform's discovery mechanics, including Instagram Explore/Reels and Pinterest search.
  • Partner closely with the Videographer/Editor and Creative Director to translate approved brand and campaign concepts into platform-native assets, with clear briefs, shot needs, references, and deadlines.
  • Film and edit nimble social content independently when speed, authenticity, or trend responsiveness calls for it.
  • Track performance weekly and monthly; translate results into clear content recommendations and adjust the calendar based on what is working.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 2–4 years managing Instagram for a consumer brand; Pinterest experience is strongly preferred. Beauty, fashion, or lifestyle experience is a plus.
  • A track record of growing an account from a small or standing-start base—not only maintaining an established audience.
  • Sharp visual judgment, strong copy instincts, and fluency in platform-native formats, trends, and pacing.
  • Exceptional organization and follow-through: you can manage a detailed content calendar, production dependencies, approvals, and publishing without details slipping.
  • Working knowledge of Pinterest search, keyword, and discovery mechanics is a strong plus.
  • A clear point of view and the ability to pitch ideas with a rationale—not just fill a content calendar.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
