We’re looking for an ambitious and driven Social Media Manager to lead strategy and storytelling for THE•TEAM’s Soccer Talent Representation Division’s social media account (@the.team.soccer). This role will oversee social channels that highlight the Soccer division’s athletes, partnership and cross-disciplinary work across sports and marketing. If you’re passionate about the intersection of soccer and culture, this is a strong opportunity to make an impact.

These channels represent key areas of the business, so you’ll be expected to quickly build a deep understanding of the Soccer Division’s brand, talent and partners. You’ll develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, contribute to team culture and execute thoughtful, compelling content strategies that connect with audiences and communities across existing and emerging platforms.

A key focus of this role will be managing and evolving content approaches across client moments, matchdays, transfers and brand partnerships. THE•TEAM works in a fast-paced environment, so the ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running, thrive in a demanding atmosphere and work brilliantly in a team environment, but equally, you are comfortable when required to work independently.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead social strategy and content planning for THE•TEAM’s soccer platforms, with clear channel roles, content pillars, and a repeatable testing framework across Instagram and potential emerging platforms.

  • Proactively develop and execute content calendars aligned with player moments, partnerships and business priorities.

  • Translate athlete stories, cultural moments and brand initiatives into engaging, social-first storytelling.

  • Manage content building, copywriting, post publishing, community engagement and performance tracking.

  • Work closely with the global communications department to execute and uphold THE•TEAM’s overall marketing and communications strategy.

  • Develop and scale content around key soccer moments including matchdays, transfers, tournaments and brand partnerships

  • Collaborate with creative teams to produce high-impact, social-first content across formats (short-form video, carousels, real-time content)

  • Build creative frameworks to ensure content is culturally relevant and engaging.

  • Produce visually compelling, insight-led content while identifying trends and moments to capture new followers, prospective clients and increase reach.

  • Balance client expectations and stakeholder needs with overarching brand goals, direction and guidelines.

  • Travel onsite for key moments in the Soccer division’s calendar to create compelling content born out of integration with the event/team/clients.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 2+ years of agency-side or brand experience developing social media creative, editing copy, and engaging with an audience.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with experience using tools like Asana (or similar platforms) to manage workflows and deadlines.

  • Familiar with native Instagram/Linkedin Insights + CMS tools like Sprinklr.

  • Extensive knowledge of social media best practices and emerging trends.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong relationship-management skills (internally and with clients).

  • High standard of excellence, with the flexibility to work nontraditional hours when needed and anticipate challenges with thoughtful communication.

  • Flawless spelling and grammar.

  • Video capture, editing, production and on-camera abilities (CapCut, Edits, Premier Pro, etc).

  • Strong awareness of cultural trends across sports, music, and entertainment.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Keynote, Slack, and Box

  • An insatiable passion for and extensive knowledge of soccer, including but not limited to the MLS, NWSL, FIFA, Olympics and more.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
