Summary:

We’re looking for a Social Media Intern to help support various content campaigns this summer. You’ll play a vital support role on Surfline's content team by monitoring Instagram submissions, saving and categorizing entries, and keeping everything organized.

Under Surfline’s “Work from Anywhere” policy, this position may be performed on a remote basis from California or a variety of locations in the US.

**Applicants must be able to receive academic credit for this internship opportunity**

What You'll Do:
  • Monitor and review daily Instagram story submissions.
  • Update internal tracking sheets to support weekly judging and recap content.
  • Label content files with user handle, submission date, and content theme.
  • Assist the content team with managing Instagram story highlights and preparing weekly shortlists.
  • Track metrics for sales team.
What We're Looking For:
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Communications, Marketing, Media, or a similar field.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and consistency.
  • Comfortable using Instagram, Surfline and Excel spreadsheet.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow structured processes independently.
  • Available to work in the Pacific Time Zone (West Coast preferred, but open to East Coast or Hawaii-based applicants).
You May Also Have:
  • Passion for the ocean, surfing, or beach lifestyle.
  • Familiarity with surf terminology and ability to distinguish types of waves or standout clips.
  • Experience with social media content creation or brand-aligned community management.
  • Prior involvement in campus marketing, creative media projects, or digital internships.
