Social Media Internship Position at Outride

About Outride: Outride is a nonprofit that envisions a world where all people have access to cycling as a means to support their wellbeing. Through research efforts, cycling programs, and funding, Outride works to empower all people to experience the social, emotional, and cognitive benefits of cycling. Since 2019, we’ve partnered with nearly 400 schools and supported over 250 cycling programs.

Each year we impact tens of thousands of lives. From youth discovering independence and regaining focus in the classroom, to the aging population improving wellness and mobility, we believe in the power of bikes to change lives.

Overview

The Social Media Intern will play a pivotal role in supporting Outride's mission: to provide research, cycling programs, and funding that empower all people to experience the social, emotional, and cognitive benefits of cycling. This internship offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social media marketing and contribute to the growth of our online presence. If you're a social media enthusiast with a knack for creating engaging content and a desire to learn, we encourage you to apply!

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation (60%)

- Brainstorm and contribute creative ideas for social media content and initiatives.

- Create 1-2 Instagram Posts with engaging approved photo / video assets and

corresponding story per week.

- Submit all content and assets at least one week in advance to post date for

review.

- Schedule and publish content across different platforms using scheduling tools.

Marketing & Communications Strategy Support (20%)

- Research and analyze social media trends and activity in similar organizations.

- Track and report on social media performance metrics (e.g., engagement, reach, impressions, website traffic).

- Assist with other marketing tasks as needed.

Community Collaboration (20%)

- Monitor social media channels for mentions, comments, and messages.

- Connect with Outride partners and communities to amplify their impact (e.g.,

collecting assets, writing blogs, etc.).

Qualifications

- Currently pursuing or has a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism,

English, or a related field.

- Strong understanding of various social media platforms and their best practices.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Creative and visually oriented with a keen eye for detail.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva).

- Passion for cycling and working in non-profit space is a plus!

Pay: $20/hour

Internship Duration: Summer 2025 with potential to continue in Fall 2025 depending

on performance evaluation and schedule

Hours per week: up to 15 hours
