About Fundamental

Fundamental is an AI research lab pioneering the future of enterprise decision-making. Our flagship model, NEXUS is the world's most powerful Large Tabular Model (LTM) - purpose-built for the structured records that contain trillions of dollars in business value. With $275m in funding from leading investors and trusted by Fortune 100 companies, Fundamental is giving businesses the Power to Predict.

At Fundamental, you'll work on unprecedented technical challenges in foundation model development and build technology that transforms how the world's largest companies make decisions. This is your opportunity to be part of a category-defining company from the ground-up. Join the team defining the future of enterprise AI.

About the role

Fundamental's story is complex, and how it is told matters. This role owns how that story reaches the market: the voice of our founders on X and LinkedIn, our company channels, and the content strategy behind them. You will turn deep technical work into writing that earns the attention of customers, researchers, investors and the people we want to hire.

This is a content role first. You will help decide what we publish, why and where, from long-form blogs and thought leadership to the posts that carry them. You will write in the voice of our founders, with their sign-off, and build a steady rhythm of content that grows an audience over time. You will also help put our leaders in front of the right podcasts and platforms.

You will work from the US, report to our Head of Marketing, and work closely with Jeremy and Gabriel day to day. If you have a few years in marketing and a real specialism in social, you are plugged into the US tech scene, and you write with confidence and work well independently, you will recognise this role. We are looking for someone who enjoys owning a brief from first idea to published piece, and who wants the variety of a small, fast-moving team at an early-stage company.

Key responsibilities
  • Own our content strategy: decide what we publish across blogs and long-form content, and build an editorial plan tied to product, research and company milestones

  • Be the voice of our founders: ghostwrite for Jeremy and Gabriel on X and LinkedIn, capture how they sound and get posts approved quickly

  • Run our company channels: own the Fundamental LinkedIn and X accounts, from the content calendar to daily publishing

  • Make complex ideas accessible: turn technical research and product news into content that customers and researchers want to read and share

  • Build the audience: use the data to grow reach and engagement, and tell us what is working and what is not

  • Open doors for our leaders: pitch and prepare our founders for podcasts, panels and other earned opportunities

  • Turn one idea into many: repurpose blogs, talks and research into posts, threads and talking points

  • Find the stories: partner with marketing, product, research and sales to spot what is worth telling

  • Keep things moving: manage briefs, approvals and the content calendar, and handle the routine tasks that keep it all on schedule

  • Try new tools: use AI-assisted writing and workflow tools where they help, with strong human editing and fact-checking

Required skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

  • Around 5+ years' commercial experience in marketing, with ideally 3+ explicitly in a social media focused position

  • Exceptional writing and editing, with a portfolio of work in an executive or company voice

  • A proven record of running LinkedIn and X and growing engagement

  • Experience building content strategy beyond posting, such as blogs, long-form content and editorial planning

  • The ability to turn complex technical topics into clear, engaging content for a business audience

  • Experience with social scheduling and analytics tools, and reporting on performance

  • Working knowledge of CMS publishing and SEO basics

  • Strong judgement on tone and timing, and comfort working with senior leaders on what goes out under their name

  • The ability to work independently: you take a brief from idea to published without close direction, and stay organised across several projects

  • Based in the US and closely connected to the San Francisco and wider US tech scene

  • An ownership mentality: you want to be measured on outcomes, and you are energised by building something from the ground up

  • A humble, team-oriented attitude with a bias toward action and doing what is necessary to help the broader team win

Nice to have
  • Podcast and media outreach experience, including pitching and preparing leaders for appearances

  • Familiarity with technical subject matter such as AI, machine learning or enterprise software

  • Light design or video skills, such as Canva or short-form video editing

  • Experience measuring content impact beyond reach, such as inbound leads, pipeline influence or press coverage

  • Experience at an early-stage or high-growth company, or on an in-house technology team

Benefits
  • Competitive compensation with salary and equity

  • Comprehensive health coverage for you and your dependents, including medical, dental, vision, and 401K

  • Paid parental leave for all new parents, inclusive of adoptive and surrogate journeys

  • Relocation support for employees moving to join the team in one of our office locations

  • A mission-driven, low-ego culture that values diversity of thought, ownership, and bias toward action

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
