About the Team

OpenAI’s mission is to ensure that artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity. The Creator Marketing team supports that mission by helping people understand and explore valuable uses of AI through trusted, credible voices.

We work across OpenAI to develop creator programs grounded in usefulness, authenticity, and measurable impact. Our work spans product education, launches, storytelling, community engagement, and ongoing partnerships that help bring OpenAI’s products to life for a range of audiences.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Partnerships Marketer to develop and scale creator programs for technical and professional audiences. This person will build relationships with credible voices who can help people understand, evaluate, and meaningfully use OpenAI’s products.

You will partner closely with teams across Marketing, Product, Communications, Developer Experience, Growth, and go-to-market functions to translate complex capabilities into clear, engaging, and useful creator-led content.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how technical audiences discover and adopt new tools and who can lead creator programs from strategy through execution and measurement. You will help define the audiences, partnerships, content approaches, and operating systems required to build a trusted and effective creator ecosystem.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of three days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and execute creator strategies that help technical and professional audiences understand and engage with OpenAI’s products.

  • Partner with Social, Product, and Developer Experience to translate launches, API updates, and technical workflows into high-signal social content for developer audiences, including posts, threads, short videos, and creator-ready assets.

  • Help shape launch and sustained-content plans across owned developer channels and creator programs, so the narrative, timing, approvals, and performance learnings reinforce one another.

  • Build and manage relationships with trusted creators, experts, educators, and community voices across relevant channels and formats.

  • Identify emerging audiences, voices, and opportunities that can expand understanding and meaningful adoption of AI.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to translate product capabilities into clear, credible, and engaging creator-led content.

  • Lead creator programs across product education, launches, events, and other priority initiatives.

  • Provide creators with the context, guidance, and resources needed to produce useful, accurate, and authentic work.

  • Establish scalable processes for creator identification, evaluation, briefing, execution, and ongoing relationship management.

  • Build feedback loops between creators, audiences, and internal teams to surface insights, use cases, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Define success metrics and evaluate program performance across audience engagement, product impact, and broader business objectives.

  • Continuously evolve the strategy based on performance insights, audience behavior, creator feedback, and changing market dynamics.

You might thrive in this role if you have:

  • 8+ years of experience developing and scaling creator, influencer, community, or partnership programs.

  • Experience reaching technical, professional, developer, or B2B audiences.

  • A strong understanding of how people discover, evaluate, and adopt new technologies.

  • The ability to translate complex products and ideas into clear, credible, and engaging content.

  • Strong judgment in identifying creators and partners who can build trust with distinct audiences.

  • Experience managing creator relationships and programs across a range of channels, formats, and stages of maturity.

  • A track record of operating as a senior individual contributor and owning strategy through execution.

  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to influence partners across Product, Marketing, Communications, and go-to-market teams.

  • Strong analytical instincts and experience connecting creator programs to measurable outcomes.

  • Comfort navigating ambiguity, building new systems, and adapting as products, audiences, and priorities evolve.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
