Lead design and operation of scalable, multi-tenant spatial streaming platforms. Build Terraform-based cloud infrastructure, optimize CDN/content delivery, implement observability (SLI/SLO), run incident response/on-call, conduct post-mortems, enforce compliance and security practices, and mentor DevOps engineers to improve reliability and production readiness.

Building something ambitious requires focus, resilience, and a willingness to take on challenging work. At Miris, we believe that this work can be deeply meaningful when it is supported by a strong team, a clear sense of purpose, and a shared commitment to achieving important outcomes. We are looking for people who are energized by complex problems and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

The Opportunity:

Miris is removing the barrier to entry for spatial content, and rock-solid reliability is fundamental to that mission. We're looking for experienced Site Reliability Engineers at the Senior level and above who can take ownership of building reliable, scalable platforms that deliver 3D/4D Gaussian splat content to AR/VR devices worldwide. This is a high-impact role that requires deep expertise in observability, multi-tenant architecture, and the ability to collect and act on the data that ensures system reliability at scale.

You'll work closely with our Web Services team to establish robust monitoring, implement SRE best practices, and build the infrastructure that processes customer data and streaming content across multiple tenants. Our ideal candidate thrives on designing systems that can handle rapid growth while maintaining enterprise-grade security and compliance, and knows how to instrument everything needed to keep those systems running smoothly.

As a remote-first company with a globally distributed team, we value thoughtful collaboration, accountability, and trust. We also believe that every candidate should have an ownership mindset and the opportunity to share in the success they help create, which is why stock options are a significant portion of this role's compensation package.

What You'll Do:

  • Configure and maintain cloud infrastructure automation using Terraform, focusing on CDN optimization and content delivery performance
  • Develop capacity planning strategies and performance optimization initiatives for high-volume spatial content delivery.
  • Instrument services to understand system health. Create and optimize monitoring dashboards and alerting systems that provide actionable insights into streaming performance and user experience
  • Design and implement comprehensive observability strategies for spatial streaming services, including SLI/SLO definition and error budget management
  • Help define escalation policies and participate in on-call rotations to ensure the 24/7 health of Miris pipelines
  • Lead incident response efforts and conduct thorough post-mortems to drive systemic improvements across web services
  • Establish reliability engineering practices within the Web Services team, including code review processes and deployment safety measures
  • Mentor DevOps engineers on operational best practices, reliability patterns, and production readiness standards

What You'll Bring:

  • 7+ years of SRE or DevOps experience with a proven track record of improving system reliability and operational practices
  • Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS Fargate, CoreWeave), including infrastructure automation with Terraform and container orchestration with Kubernetes
  • Deep understanding of multi-tenant architecture security, data protection principles, and threat modeling for customer data handling systems
  • Experience with observability principles and hands-on experience in monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) with reporting capabilities
  • Experience implementing automated compliance monitoring (SOC 2, GDPR, ISO 27001, FOSS licensing)
  • Excellent mentoring and technical leadership skills with the ability to influence engineering teams and drive adoption of security-first reliability practices
Target Base Salary Range
$102,693$287,488 USD

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
