Develops and validates computational models and simulations for electronic and electromechanical medical-device systems. Performs signal and power integrity, electromagnetic, circuit, and system-level analyses; conducts trade studies and sensitivity analyses; supports virtual prototyping, design reviews, verification, and regulatory submissions. Collaborates with hardware, firmware, systems, and manufacturing teams to resolve performance issues and documents modeling methods, assumptions, validation, and results.
Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled engineer with expertise in
computational modeling and simulation for electronic and electro mechanical systems used in medical devices.
The role focuses
on SI/PI, electromagnetic analysis, and system-level modeling to evaluate and optimize product performance, reliability, and
robustness. The engineer will drive simulation-driven design, reduce
physical prototyping, accelerate development timelines, and support
regulatory submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform SI/PI analysis for high-speed interfaces.
- Develop validated electrical simulation models under varying
operating conditions.
- Conduct trade studies and sensitivity analyses to support
engineering decisions.
- Contribute to virtual prototyping initiatives to reduce design
iterations.
- Present simulation findings and design recommendations to
stakeholders.
- Maintain documentation of methodologies, assumptions, validation,
and results.
- Support design reviews and verification activities with simulation
based analyses.
Requirements
Required Skills
- Perform Signal Integrity (SI) and Power
Integrity (PI) analysis for high-speed digital
interfaces (DDR4, DDR5, MIPI, USB).
- Develop simulation models for impedance
discontinuities, crosstalk, timing margins,
and electromagnetic compatibility.
- Conduct pre-layout and post-layout
PCB/package analyses.
- Apply electromagnetic, circuit, and
system-level simulation techniques to
optimize product design.
- Support regulatory submissions and
design verification with simulation-based
evidence.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware,
systems, and manufacturing teams to
resolve performance issues.
Preferred Skills
- Transmission line theory, PCB design, and power distribution
networks.
- Tools: Ansys HFSS, Ansys SIwave, Cadence, CST Studio Suite,
Altium.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Programming/scripting in Python, MATLAB, Tcl for automation and
data analysis.
- EMI/EMCfundamentals.
- Background in medical devices, consumer electronics, or
embedded systems.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s, or Ph.D. in
Electrical or Electronics or a related field.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene
Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.
Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech
- Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
- Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
