About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

As Salesforce leads the era of the Agentic Enterprise, Salesforce Professional Services helps customers connect people, agents, data, and workflows to drive success together. The Services Sales Solutions Leads (SSSLs) help Account Partners create, expand, accelerate, and close pipeline by selling Agentic delivery models to Public Sector customers (Federal Civilian, Non-Profit, Higher Education, and State and Local).

Overview of the Role

The SSSL People Manager builds, coaches, and scales a team of SSSLs, holding them accountable to two Key Strategic Objectives: KSO 1 - Pre-Sales Performance & Customer Impact and KSO 2 - Skills Readiness & Growth.

Beyond individual deal support, this leader is the connective tissue for the SSSL PubSec practice - setting direction, removing blockers, developing talent, and keeping the team cohesive amid constant change. They work closely with the SSSL Lead, proactively managing and mitigating escalations, bringing a problem-solving mindset, and liaising between the SSSL Lead and the broader PubSec and Professional Services organization.

Your Impact

  • People Management & Team Leadership: Coach, develop, and hold SSSLs accountable to KSO 1/KSO 2 and pipeline targets; recruit, onboard, and ramp new SSSLs; run team cadences; proactively address capacity and burnout risk; foster a strong feedback culture; help establish meaningful career paths.

  • Vision & Strategy: Set the team's vision and execution plan for helping APs sell Agentic delivery models; champion an AI-first, tip-of-the-spear approach across the practice.

  • Pipeline Creation & Coaching: Coach SSSLs on disciplined pipeline management from qualification to close, tailored to Public Sector funding cycles and procurement realities.

  • Strategic Customer Advisory: Guide the team in shaping large, transformational engagements and translating executive objectives into executable plans.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Escalation Management: Serve as the escalation point and strategic connective tissue between the SSSL team, SSSL Lead, Sales, Architecture, and Leadership; proactively manage and mitigate escalations with a problem-solving mindset; run "Deal Clinics" to stress-test strategies and reduce stalled deals; champion reusable methodologies and assets.

  • Setting Teams Up for Success — Instill a disciplined Go/No-Go process; drive account health and mitigate delivery risk across the portfolio.

Success Metrics: Team performance against KSO 1/KSO 2 and pipeline/bookings impact; talent development and retention; AP satisfaction; AI adoption; thought leadership and industry recognition.

Required Qualifications

  • Direct experience with Federal Civilian, Non-Profit, Higher Education, and State and Local customers and their distinct funding/procurement drivers.

  • 15+ years delivering enterprise consulting services, 7+ years on the Salesforce platform.

  • Proven experience managing 10+ high performers, developing talent, and driving team-level results.

  • Hands-on pipeline creation/expansion/acceleration/capture experience, and coaching others to do the same, in complex multi-stakeholder sales cycles.

  • Deal architecture, pricing, and discounting acumen.

  • Comfortable with escalation management, conflict mediation, and problem-solving under ambiguity and shifting priorities.

  • Track record leading teams through adoption of new tools/techniques ahead of the curve.

  • 7+ years of enterprise project/program experience (SaaS preferred).

  • Experience leading end-to-end discovery, solutioning, estimating, and SOW creation for multi-cloud programs.

  • Active experience supporting services sales: proposal development, RFPs, executive presentations.

  • Deep Salesforce platform proficiency; certifications (Admin, Sales Cloud Consultant, Agentforce Specialist, Service Cloud) strongly preferred.

  • Strong executive presence, facilitation skills, and analytical/negotiation skills.

  • Willingness to travel as client needs require.

  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
