About Private Health Management

Private Health Management (PHM) supports people with serious and complex medical conditions, helping them obtain the best possible medical care. We guide individuals and families to top specialists, advanced diagnostics, and personalized care. Trusted by healthcare providers and businesses, PHM offers independent, science-backed insights to help clients make informed decisions and access the best care.

About the Role

As a ServiceNow Developer at PHM, you will help stabilize, scale, and advance PHMCare, our ServiceNow platform and a core system supporting client delivery. This role will strengthen PHM’s internal ServiceNow expertise, reduce reliance on outsourced support, and help bring more platform knowledge and intellectual property in house.

You will join an existing ServiceNow Developer and a broader Enterprise Applications team working in a technically enabled, AI-forward environment. Your work will help our client delivery teams onboard clients more quickly, serve more clients efficiently, and continue improving the systems that support PHM’s mission.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to do hands-on ServiceNow development in a mission-driven environment while helping shape a more mature, scalable, and internally owned platform.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Help build deeper internal ServiceNow expertise and reduce dependency on external partners.
  • Improve platform stability, scalability, and maintainability by addressing technical debt.
  • Deliver high-quality ServiceNow enhancements that support faster, more efficient client delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with technical team members and business users through clear listening, communication, and follow-through.
  • Support PHM’s continued progress toward an innovative, AI-forward technology environment.

How You’ll Spend Your Days

ServiceNow Development and Platform Improvement

  • Develop, configure, and enhance ServiceNow applications, workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, dashboards, widgets, and related platform capabilities.
  • Improve PHMCare performance, usability, and scalability while reducing accumulated technical debt.
  • Support integrations, automation, and workflow improvements that make client delivery more efficient.
  • Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement maintainable solutions.
  • Contribute to documentation, standards, and development practices that support long-term platform health.

Collaboration and Business Partnership

  • Partner with Enterprise Applications, IT, Operations, business users, vendors, and other stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into effective ServiceNow solutions.
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Use strong listening skills to clarify the real problem before building.
  • Build trust with internal teams by delivering well, following through, and adapting as needs evolve.

ServiceNow Maturity and Internal Capability

  • Help strengthen PHM’s in-house ServiceNow development practices, standards, and governance.
  • Collaborate with and learn from the existing ServiceNow Developer while contributing your own depth and perspective.
  • Help reduce reliance on outsourced support by bringing more platform knowledge and execution capability inside PHM.
  • Support a technical environment that is increasingly innovative, AI-forward, and focused on sustainable internal expertise.

What You Bring to the Table

Required

  • ServiceNow certifications - CSA, CAD
  • In-depth ServiceNow development and administration experience, including hands-on configuration, scripting, workflow automation, and platform customization.
  • Experience building or improving ServiceNow capabilities such as business rules, client scripts, UI policies, Flow Designer, dashboards, widgets, scoped applications, or related platform features.
  • Strong listening and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams and business users.
  • High ownership, strong follow-through, and the ability to get things done well in a timely and effective manner.
  • Adaptability and comfort working in an environment with inherited technical debt and evolving priorities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience applying AI or AI-enabled tools to improve workflows, development practices, documentation, or business processes.
  • Experience with JavaScript, REST APIs, Glide API, integrations, iPaaS, or external system connectivity.
  • ServiceNow certifications such as Certified System Administrator or Certified Application Developer.
  • Healthcare, quality, operations, CMS, or other regulated environment experience.

Compensation

The target base salary for this position is $120,000–$140,000.

This base salary is only a part of a total compensation package that also includes: health/dental/vision benefits, annual cash incentive program, 401k with match, flexible PTO, PHM for PHM (our services for you and your dependents) and other benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range as several elements including market forces, experience, location, disparities in market data and other relevant business considerations may all factor into final compensation.

Location

This is a remote role requiring that you live in and physically perform all work in the United States.

Next Steps

Private Health Management is a remote company with employees around the United States. We’re committed to providing a thoughtful, transparent interview experience and meaningful opportunities to get to know our company, mission, and wonderful teammates through fully remote interviews. If your application is selected for interviews, you’ll hear from a member of our recruiting team to schedule next steps. Interviews will also include: the hiring manager, peers, and often an executive from the department. PHM uses AI-enabled tools at certain points in the recruiting process to help identify and evaluate top talent; however, all hiring decisions are made by human reviewers.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
