Concentrating specifically on the Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, and Core HCM modules, the Senior Analyst works in partnership with the People Operations (HR) team to maximize system performance and ensure business processes are effectively integrated with technological tools.

You will contribute to the broader People Operations Team within a collaborative setting, engaging with internal partners to uphold precise and compliant record keeping. Your role is central to our goal of refining system interactions and increasing operational productivity. • Business Process Optimization: Review, identify, and resolve inefficiencies in business processes across your core modules. Build condition rules, validation rules, and custom notifications.

Project Management & Support
  • Roadmap & Enhancements: Work with internal business partners to gather requirements, assess needs, design, and configure proactive modifications and enhancements. Participate in developing overall People Technology roadmap recommendations.

  • Release Management: Program manage the testing and implementation of Workday’s semi-annual release updates as well as weekly system enhancements.

  • Testing & QA: Create, review, and execute functional test plans and regression testing for system fixes, upgrades, and custom enhancements.

  • End-User Support: Act as an escalation point for troubleshooting, resolving complex transactional errors, and researching system-related issues.

 Collaboration & Governance
  • Stakeholder Partnerships: Build strong, collaborative relationships with People Operations and IT teams.

  • Reporting & Analytics: Create custom reports, calculated fields, and dashboards to support tracking metrics for recruiting, compensation cycles, and core workforce demographics.

  • Change Control & Documentation: Document configuration decisions, maintain process guides, and adhere to change control protocols for audit compliance.

What we need from you:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Workday Expertise: 4+ years of proven, hands-on experience supporting and configuring Workday HRIS systems.

  • Module Specialization: Demonstrated, direct configuration experience in Workday.

  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Proven capability in executing system testing, and validating configuration.

  • Project Leadership: Experience leading or playing a key technical role in system implementation projects, cycle rollouts (e.g., Annual Merit cycles), or system optimizations.

  • Analytical Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and a natural curiosity for identifying systemic solutions to create HR process efficiencies.

  • Project & Time Management: Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize competing tasks, multi-task, and manage project timelines.

  • Collaborative Mindset: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while functioning seamlessly as part of a cross-functional team.

  • Communication & Consulting: Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical Workday configurations into understandable solutions for HR partners.

  • Judgment & Integrity: Ability to take total ownership of tasks, use proactive initiative, and handle sensitive HR data with the utmost confidentiality and discretion.

  • Workday Pro Certification(s) in Core HCM, Recruiting, or Advanced Compensation preferred.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
