Crunchyroll is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Vice President, Accounting, to join our executive leadership team. This role will be instrumental in elevating our accounting operations and building a world-class financial infrastructure to support our rapid growth and global expansion.
The Senior Vice President, Accounting, will be responsible for leading the company’s global accounting function, building scalable processes, and ensuring the financial health of the organization. This individual will be tasked with restructuring, optimizing, and enhancing financial processes and controls, systems, and reporting frameworks. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned accounting leader with experience managing complex global operations and a proven track record of driving operational and strategic improvements.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development
- Build, lead, and inspire a diverse and high-performing global accounting team, developing talent and fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and excellence.
- Expand accounting capabilities to align with the company’s growth trajectory, ensuring accuracy in current processes while both solving for current day gaps and preparing for future scale.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration across global teams to drive process improvement and financial rigor across the organization.
Accounting Infrastructure & Optimization
- Lead the transformation and scaling of the company’s accounting processes, data flows and systems, focusing on automation, standardization, and efficiency.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in line with global financial reporting standards and business needs.
- Collaborate with the parent company to align on strategic financial policies,, and future state financial system design.
- Manage change effectively by overseeing global implementation of new financial systems and processes, ensuring smooth transitions across international teams.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of global financial statements in compliance with international regulations (GAAP, IFRS).
- Partner with Investor Relations to communicate the company’s financial story to stakeholders and investors, providing key metrics and insights.
- Oversee global compliance with financial regulations, managing external audits, and ensuring robust risk management across all regions.
Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership
- Provide strategic financial guidance and insight to the executive team, identifying opportunities for growth, cost optimization, and risk mitigation.
- Support new market entries and product launches by providing accounting leadership on tax, compliance, and reporting requirements.
- Lead the design and negotiation of outsourcing and shared service agreements, optimizing financial support across global operations.
- Act as a key partner in mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions, managing financial due diligence and integration processes.
- 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 10+ years in a senior leadership role managing global teams.
- Proven experience leading accounting functions in a high-growth, global company, preferably in the entertainment, media, or tech sectors.
- Expertise in designing and implementing large-scale financial systems (ERP) and process improvements.
- Strong understanding of global compliance regulations (GAAP, IFRS) and managing multi-country operations.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- CPA or equivalent certification required; Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Multilingual skills a plus; proficiency in English required.
