Golin Los Angeles is looking for a Senior Vice President to join our Consumer team!


We need a leader, who has collaborated with big consumer brands, managed multi-faceted account teams, building truly integrated, earned, and social media activations.


You are an integrated communications expert, with the ability to focus on the larger picture, drive thought leadership and enable effective decision making, to achieve client and business goals. You will serve as a senior client partner and collaborate with clients to develop integrated plans, present strategic marketing recommendations, address challenges and opportunities, and provide real time solutions.


The ideal candidate is proactive, solutions oriented, has developed deep client relationships, and is experienced in driving large-scale programs and multi-faceted accounts forward. You have a history of being the go-to for clients, providing strategic counsel, are growth-minded with a demonstrated ability of working with, and passion for, consumer brands.


We are looking for a leader, a dedicated team member, who will mentor and guide our consumer team, with a can-do demeanor, inspiring the best work from our team both locally and remote.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead portfolio of brands and accounts integrating and managing teams across disciplines including earned media, social, analytics, strategy, creative
  • Partner with Consumer and agency leadership on organic and new business growth goals
  • Independently lead day to day account operations and serve as a primary client contact
  • Build relationships with key clients to ensure that client/agency relationships exist on multiple levels/points of contact and will grow over time 
  • Provide financial acumen excellence – managing multi-million-dollar budgets and driving accountability and fiscal responsibility
  • Manage overall finance performance of accounts, including forecasting, staffing to utilization targets, maintaining project outreach, manager external vendors scoping accurate budgets for clients
  • Provide client counsel on strategic and tactical matters, generating innovative ideas and opportunities that are linked to the development of strategic client plans
  • Drive a proactive mind-set and culture in showing up with best-in-class industry practices, agency innovations, team development
  • Supervise, mentor, and support the development team members
  • Lead and drive the development of deliverables ranging from client plans, IAT collaborative decks, real-time strategies and points of view, new business RFP’s and capabilities presentations
  • Deeply and proactively understand your clients’ business, industry competition, and relevant channels
  • Collaborate with teams across multiple disciplines and geographies and successfully manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges


What You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in PR, marketing communications, or related field
  • At least 12+ years of PR agency or related professional communications experience necessary
  • Extensive experience leading the developing strategic consumer campaigns, that have earned mass awareness, strengthened brand equity, and impacted business objectives
  • Proven experience as a client and team leader, a day-to-day client counselor, and strategic client partner
  • Deep expertise in media relations and communications, product launches, branding campaigns, media integrations, influencer engagement, and creating deep brand footprints.
  • Demonstrated expertise and proven experience working on established consumer brands - A focus on consumer technology and/or food and beverage brand a plus
  • Extensive experience as a client leader and partner, with the ability to own multiple workstreams, building deep relationships and partnerships with client leads
  • Superior writing and editing skills, communicate creatively and in an engaging manner
  • Deep understanding of earned, digital, and paid and social media approaches
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and superior client service skills
  • High passion and enthusiasm, a positive spirit, able to translate that energy into generating results
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with clients and teams at all levels
  • Strategic and creative thinking with an entrepreneurial, solutions-oriented, flexible mindset and ability to function in a fast-paced environment 
  • Experience managing all financial aspects of client business and managing/achieving revenue goals internally at an agency important 
  • Develop and manage multiple projects and programs including strategies implementation plans, staffing plans, budgets, and timelines  
  • You have been accountable for producing and delivering high-quality work and impactful, measurable results, while ensuring team members do the same
  • Established leader who has managed and grown talent via mentoring, providing constructive feedback, and inspiring best in class work

Salary range: $150,000 - $260,000

Golin has included the base salary range or hourly rate for this role. Actual compensation offered within the range will depend upon, among other factors: a candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience; actual ranges for current or former employees in the role; and market considerations.
