The global supply chain is one of the most heavily regulated industries for all parties involved. Everyone from the carriers, intermediaries, trucking companies, 3rd party logistics, freight forwarders, shippers, consignees, importers, exporters, and brokers face a challenging and complex task of navigating through a myriad of laws from the originating country, destination country as well as international treaties and conventions.
The Trade Advisory team provides expert customs and trade guidance to help clients navigate supply chain risks and identify cost-saving opportunities. As a Senior Trade Advisory Associate, you'll work with business consultants, lawyers, and licensed customs brokers to deliver solutions that simplify global trade challenges.
You will:- Support trade compliance and duty minimization projects including Classification, Valuation, Country of Origin, and FTA analysis
- Manage analytics, reporting, and client deliverables across multiple projects
- Monitor customs regulations, ruling issuances, and industry trends
- Interface with CBP and clients, providing timely responses
- Coordinate software solutions and data analytics improvements
- Maintain communication with stakeholders and support trade advisory infrastructure
- Bachelor's degree; Licensed Customs Broker required; J.D. or graduate degree preferred
- 3-5 years trade experience (in-house, customs brokerage, consulting, or law firm)
- Demonstrated experience with valuation methodologies and First Sale Rule implementation
- Strong technical writing, interpersonal, and data analytical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Google equivalents
- In-depth knowledge of classification, reconciliation, and duty minimization strategies
