About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Sourcer to support our recruitment efforts and help us attract top technical talent, particularly in Product Engineering and Machine Learning. The Senior Technical Sourcer will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies, managing the beginning of the candidate lifecycle, and building strong relationships with candidates, recruiters, and hiring managers. This position requires flexibility to work in a fast-paced startup environment and may involve sourcing for both technical and non-technical roles. This role is an IC role, but as a lead we are looking for a strategic person who can both execute and manage up to leadership.

You will:

  • Play a vital role in scaling our organization

  • Implement and scale sourcing processes for all roles — from entry level engineers though senior leadership roles (technical to nontechnical roles)

  • Support or lead projects including interview training, employment branding, culture assessments, offers, benchmarking, etc.

  • Constantly evaluate external trends and tools and identify opportunities to promote creative and out-of-the-box sourcing strategies.

  • Provide regular reporting and insights on sourcing metrics and performance to key stakeholders, including the leadership team.

  • Support people operations projects and initiatives from the people operations org

  • Be a vital partner for senior leadership and have influence on the growth of the organization

  • Work collaboratively across San Francisco team and South Korean team (be comfortable with meetings until 6pm PST)

You may be a good fit if you have:

  • 5+ years of experience in technical sourcing or recruiting, with a proven track record of success in sourcing and hiring top technical talent

  • Designed, built and rolled out sourcing processes and are excited about scaling. 25 hires in six months doesn’t scare you

  • Be data-driven and digitally savvy, with a deep understanding of recruitment metrics.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced scaling environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and leadership.

  • An interest in establishing equitable recruiting processes and a desire to go the extra mile to recruit non-traditional candidates

  • Experience with recruiting analytics, reporting, and data-driven decisions and solutions

Desired Experience:

  • Proven experience leading or managing sourcing and recruiting functions, with a focus on building scalable strategies and high-performing teams

  • Strong track record of partnering closely with executive leadership to align talent acquisition efforts with business goals

  • Collaborated cross-functionally with People/HR teams to support and drive key organizational initiatives, including DEI, employer branding, and workforce planning

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
