The Role
We're looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager to join our PMO and drive the delivery of complex, cross-functional technical programs spanning our ML, Systems/MLOps, Platform, and Solutions Engineering teams. You'll own the end-to-end execution of initiatives that touch product development, model delivery, system infrastructure, and enterprise customer deployments.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer delivery and someone who can turn ambiguity into clear plans, keep teams aligned and accountable, and consistently ship on time and on scope.

Responsibilities

  • Own program and project delivery across engineering (ML, Systems/MLOps, Platform) and Solutions teams, from planning and scoping through execution, launch, and retrospective.
  • Build and maintain project plans, roadmaps, and timelines, identifying critical paths, dependencies, and risks across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment between Engineering, Product, Solutions Engineering, QA, and Customer Success, ensuring everyone shares a clear understanding of scope, priorities, and status.
  • Run effective agile and project processes — sprint planning, standups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives, and help standardize these practices across teams.
  • Establish and improve PMO processes, standards, and tooling (e.g., Jira workflows, reporting, intake, prioritization frameworks) that scale with the company.
  • Proactively manage risks, blockers, and escalations, surfacing issues early and driving them to resolution with the right stakeholders.
  • Provide clear, data-driven status reporting to engineering leadership, executives, and (where appropriate) enterprise customers.
  • Coordinate enterprise customer deployments and delivery milestones in partnership with product team and Solutions Engineering, ensuring commitments are met.
  • Contribute to incident and process maturity — supporting post-incident reviews, action-item tracking, and continuous improvement across teams.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, clarity, and execution excellence across the organization.

Qualification

  • 6+ years of technical project/program management experience, including delivering complex software or ML/AI products.
  • Proven track record managing cross-functional technical programs with engineering teams (software, infrastructure, and/or ML).
  • Willing to travel 10%
  • Strong command of project management and agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools (Jira, Confluence, or equivalent).
  • Strong technical fluency: comfortable discussing software architecture, APIs, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and ML/data workflows well enough to challenge estimates and understand trade-offs.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to influence without authority and align engineers, product, and business leaders.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and risk-management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring structure and predictability to fast-moving, ambiguous environments

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
