Who we areAbout Seam

Seam builds the infrastructure that connects software to the physical world. With Seam, companies create products that automate spaces, streamline operations, and elevate everyday experiences—like unlocking doors, managing climate, and monitoring properties from anywhere.

About the team

This team builds the platform that helps companies automate and manage the physical world in residential and small business spaces. We serve customers like property management software providers, integrators, and startups building solutions for offices, gyms, and coworking spaces.

Our product includes APIs, developer tools, and UI components that make it easy to add connected features to any product quickly and reliably. From unlocking doors to managing devices at scale, we help teams launch reliable, modern experiences in a fraction of the time.

You’ll join a tight-knit team of engineers, designers, and product managers shaping the future of connected devices and automated operations.

What you’ll do

At Seam, you’ll work directly with our customers to uncover their most pressing challenges and deliver products that transform how people manage their homes and businesses. Our customers rely on Seam’s platform to power critical operations — from ensuring guests can unlock their rooms seamlessly to automating energy savings across large property portfolios.

Product discovery often starts with open-ended questions like, “How could we make arriving at a hotel as simple as walking through the door?” or “How do I fully automate the day-to-day operations, so everything just works without manual effort?”

As a Product Manager, you’ll combine product intuition, technical depth, and execution skills to drive meaningful outcomes for our customers. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to some of the world’s most important industries — hospitality, multifamily, commercial real estate — and help define the future of IoT infrastructure.

  • Strong technical skills - able to understand how software systems work end to end, build a clear mental model of the Seam API and its integrations, and grasp how customers will use them in their own products.
  • Strong customer empathy across different segments and personas, from startups to large enterprises, spanning engineering and product teams.
  • Strong product sense: ability to understand user needs in-depth and build delightful product experiences to solve them and make our users successful.
  • Clear communication: ability to synthesize complex discussions, write succinctly and present to stakeholders both within and outside Seam.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
