Boeing Space Mission Systems (SMS) Experimental Systems Group (ESG) is seeking a highly skilled professional to serve as a Senior Systems Engineering Manager (Level L) in either Seal Beach, CA or El Segundo, CA.
Our multi-disciplinary team focuses on rapid development to demonstrate a host of next-generation, mission-focused technologies, products and services for a variety of customers. Our group works in all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, architecture, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration. You will provide leadership and ensure modern, best practices across programs and product lines, in a highly dynamic, collaborative environment. Come innovate the future.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and invest in a multi-skilled, diverse team of systems engineers
  • Support parallel program development efforts, including interfacing with other teams
  • Drive alignment to the roadmap vision, while automating to reduce operational costs and increasing quality
  • Provide oversight for technical and cost baselines of proposals and bids for future architecture activities
  • Manage resources, schedules, and staffing to execute concurrent programs
  • Cultivate a culture of respect, transparency, excellence, inspiration, and fun
  • Be accountable to ensure appropriate staffing and skill mix for the programs
  • Review personnel performance, communicate and collaborate to develop talent

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
  • 5+ years of experience on space programs
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership or management role
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience leading fast paced development efforts with government customers
  • Experience integrating multiple complex systems into customer-constrained architectures
  • Solid understanding of staffing, cost, schedule, and RIO management
  • Experience managing geographically dispersed teams on multiple simultaneous program efforts
  • Experience with agile development
  • Control Account Manager experience
  • Ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, value-driven content for executive management and senior customers

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $181,900.00 - $246,100.00
