As a Senior Strategist, you will:

  • Lead the development of social-first brand, content, channel and campaign strategies rooted in audience behavior, cultural insight and business objectives.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Creative, Account, Influencer and Production teams to translate strategy into clear, inspiring direction for the work.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to clients and teams, bringing proactive POVs, identifying opportunities and challenging teams to make the work more relevant, distinctive and effective.

Strategy & Insights:

  • Turn audience research, cultural trends, social listening and performance data into actionable insights and strategic opportunities.
  • Develop social and content strategies that define the audience, brand role, channel roles, content territories and principles that guide execution and connect to client business goals.
  • Identify cultural, behavioral and platform shifts that create new opportunities for brands to participate meaningfully on social.
  • Craft clear, inspiring creative briefs that give teams a strategic springboard.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to define research needs, KPIs and measurement frameworks, translating performance into strategic learnings and recommendations.
  • Review campaign and ongoing performance to identify broader patterns and opportunities to evolve strategy over time.

Creativity:

  • Partner closely with Creative to turn strategic insights into social-first creative territories, platforms and ideas.
  • Lead and participate in brainstorms, bringing cultural and audience inspiration that opens up unexpected creative opportunities.
  • Pressure-test creative work against the strategy, ensuring ideas remain audience-led, culturally relevant and native to the platforms where they will live.
  • Provide strategic guidance on content and campaign ecosystems.
  • Champion ideas that go beyond expected social formats, identifying opportunities across creators, communities, culture, platforms and real-world experiences.

Innovation & Thought Leadership: 

  • Keep a consistent pulse on client competitors and other best-in-class brands to inspire new ideas and executions.
  • Extend Movers+Shakers position as an industry-thought leader with insights and analysis.
  • Manage, mentor and guide peers in constantly raising the bar and pushing boundaries.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • 5-8 years of client-facing social strategy and/or social media management experience in a creative agency setting
  • Strong experience in brief writing, and building strategic frameworks + narratives
  • Strong experience in social listening/social-first research, audience research, trend forecasting, and cultural analysis
  • Experience with and interest in social platforms including TikTok, Meta, YouTube, Pinterest, Reddit, etc.
  • Experience with data, analytics and content reporting
  • Strong copywriting and ideation skills
  • Passion for client services and cross-functional collaboration
  • Multi-tasker, comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in an agency environment 
  • Leadership ability, able to guide and empower teams and clients to achieve goals with bold thinking 
  • Proactive self-starter with finger on the pulse of new innovations and opportunities

BASE SALARY RANGE

Our estimated range for this role is $100,000-115,000* 

*Don’t let this range drive your decision to apply. Actual compensation packages are based on the level of skill and experience each candidate brings to their role. Similarly, we are flexible with the level we are hiring for - they can be mid-senior level. For example, a person may apply for a Senior Content Strategist role, and we may assess that their skills are at the Content Strategist level. Each level has its own compensation range.
